Cleveland Guardians vs Tampa Bay Rays Prediction: Can Jeffrey Springs and Cal Quantrill Keep This Low Scoring?

I’m going to keep playing NRSIs until I have a reason not to. I don’t know how many we’ve hit in a row but it’s ludicrous. This game feels like a great spot to do it, the 6.5 total is a fantastic sign that we will have a boring game on our hands here. Taking the under on Tampa Bay seems risky because they’re still fighting for playoff positioning in the Wild Card but we’re taking a team total under for 6.5 when the complete game total is 6.5. They would have to hit the over by themselves for the juice reducer to fail.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Tampa Bay Rays Prediction

1u - TB/CLE No Runs 2nd Inning / Tampa u6.5 Team Total (-140 @ DK) (Bet $140 to win $100)

Jeffrey Springs, we need 3 outs from and he has only allowed a 2nd inning run one time in his last 10 starts. During that 10-game stretch was against this same Cleveland team who he had a very clean 2nd inning as he didn’t allow a hit and only walked one batter. A 90% recent hit rate on top of him just having a stellar year. I would rather take Cleveland u6.5 than Rays u6.5 but the difference in juice is significant and both should hit at the end of the day.

On the mound for Cleveland is Cal Quantrill. When Quantrill starts the opposing team has scored 6 or fewer runs in 29/30 games this year. The only team to score 7+ is the Dodgers who are much more intimidating than Tampa Bay. Quantrill has not faced Tampa Bay this seaaon but in his lifetime, he has not allowed an RBI against any of these batters in 22 at-bats. Quantrill just like Springs has not allowed a 2nd inning run in 9 of his last 10 games. Both of these pitchers have recent 90% hit rates and the juice reducer when Quantrill starts has a 97% hit rate. All of those great hit rates for just -140 are not too shabby. Let's roll!
