Back to the NRSIs we go! We finally lost an NRSI the other day, prior to that we won 16 straight. Losing once won’t stop me from firing away on them though, especially in a great matchup like this one! We have a game between the Diamondbacks and Brewers with a small game total of just seven runs. I think both pitchers are in great positions to dominate and this game should be a snooze fest throughout.
Brewers vs. Diamondbacks Prediction
We are mainly following Zac Gallen. We need Gallen to get three outs in the second inning without conceding a run but also to hold Milwaukee to six or fewer runs. When Gallen starts the opposing team has scored six runs or fewer in 29/30 starts this year. Gallen has been both dominant at home and on the road this year. With a 2.49 home ERA and a 2.44 away ERA, the guy is so underrated. He plays a Brewers team who he already embarrassed this year throwing seven innings and allowing just two hits with no runs. These Brewer bats' lifetime against Gallen has only gotten one RBI in 49 at-bats.
We also need three outs from Eric Lauer in the second inning without conceding a run. Lauer is great at home where he holds a 2.78 ERA. In his lone start against Arizona this year he had a scoreless second inning and only allowed two runs over the course of 6.2 innings pitched. Neither offense scares me too much here and Lauer is better at home with Gallen just being a beast in general. This seven-run total makes complete sense and leads me to think we can hit this NRSI to bounce back with tonight. Let's roll!
