Houston Astros vs. Philadelphia Phillies World Series Game 1 Prediction

The Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros will clash in game one of the fall classic. The Phillies came into the postseason as the final seed in the National League, and many gave them no chance to make it this far. The Phillies were able to fend off the Cardinals in round one and get a quick 2-0 sweep over the Red Birds. In round two, the Phillies continued to shock the world when they knocked off the defending champion Atlanta Braves.

They continued their hot stretch when they beat the San Diego Padres in the NLCS, and now here we are. The crazy thing with Philly's run is that they have not been in a major pressure position. They have yet to play an elimination game and won game one of every series they have played in. They have been led by reigning MVP Bryce Harper, who is turning in one of the best playoff performances of all time. They have also got some outstanding pitching from Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola.

Houston came into the playoffs as the best team in baseball, so there is no huge surprise with them being here. They have also dominated thus far, going a perfect 6-0 in the playoffs. The only game that it felt like they would lose was game one when they trailed the Mariners by four runs. There is no doubt that this is the best roster in baseball, but they will have to continue their stellar play against this hungry Phillies team.

I am backing Aaron Nola to get over 16.5 outs. Nola has been great all year long for Philly, and they are calling on him as the Ace tonight. However, Nola is coming off a poor start and will be throwing with a chip on his shoulder tonight. About a month ago, he completely dominated this Astros team, and I expect the Phillies to ride him tonight. Let’s stay hot and cash in!
