We are going for a big one here. We need the Houston Astros to win the division and the Seattle Mariners to finish second in the AL West. If you were to just bet on Astros to win the division it’s paying way too much juice. Assuming the Astros win the division which is highly likely, this bet is for Seattle to outperform the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Angels, and Oakland Athletics.
To place this bet on DraftKings you will go to “Team Futures” and then scroll over to “Division Straight Forecast” and you will see this upon scrolling down. Houston has a projection of 96 wins which is eight more wins than Seattles' projection of 88. Seattle’s 88 is six wins higher than either the Rangers or Angels. The Athletics aren’t even worth noting.
The Astros may have lost Justin Verlander but they did add Jose Abreu who will be a significant upgrade at first base. Seattle adding Teoscar Hernandez should do wonders for them as they look to build on their 90-win season last year. The Angels have the star power in Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout but I’m not a believer that they do anything better than .500 and the Rangers are coming off of a 68-win season. They made some nice moves but shouldn't improve 20+ games. Let's go for the jugular here at +200 and let's roll!
