New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics Prediction

The NBA returns to the world’s most famous arena on Thursday night as the Boston Celtics battle against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks and Celtics have played twice this season, the first time being at the Garden in a game that went to double overtime, ultimately won by the New York Knicks. The second time these teams battled, the Celtics got revenge at home. The third time we will have to wait and see who gets the upper hand.

The Celtics come into this game struggling a bit of late, playing to a record of just 4-6 in their last ten games overall. The season for the Celtics has not gone as planned to this point, playing two games under the .500 mark.

The Knicks are in the same boat so far this season as they have been struggling all season to find any momentum, but they have been better as of late, picking up a positive 6-4 record in their last ten games. The Knicks caught the league by storm a season ago, making the postseason. The Knicks fans were looking for another great showing this year, but the team has been challenged while also dealing with multiple injuries and COVIE issues. The Knicks will look to get back on track tonight against this Boston Celtics team.

In this game tonight, the play I am turning to is to back the Boston Celtics on the short money line as the road favorite.

The Celtics Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown both returned just one game ago in a tough loss. The pair has been the heartbeat of this Celtics team the last couple of years, along with guard Marcus Smart. The three of them will be on the court tonight for the Celtics, who may be at their healthiest point. The Celtics have been struggling lately, and this is a perfect bounce-back spot for them.

The Knicks will be down some star power yet again, missing Kemba Walker, who was playing great basketball the week prior to him hitting the injury report, Nerlens Noel and Derick Rose. The Knicks got the win in the Garden the last time these teams met up.

Jaylen Brown will be a matchup nightmare for the Knicks, who have shown signs of struggling on defense this season. If you can stop Brown, good luck with stopping Jayson Tatum. I believe the Knicks ’ defense simply will have no answers for this combination tonight. The absence of Nerlens Noel will also be felt in this game as he is the Knicks ’ best rim protector, so I shift the advantage to the Celtics in the painted area. The line is also telling the tale to me as the Celtics, who have not been playing good basketball as of late, are a road favorite in one of the toughest places in the league to play. I will gladly ride the Celtics tonight on the short money line, as I believe we will cash another ticket tonight.
