Wyoming vs. Air Force Prediction

The Air Force Falcons vs. the Wyoming Cowboys will clash from Laramie, Wyoming, on Friday night for a Mountain West affair. Neither one of these teams will be tournament bound unless they win their conference tournament, but they will both look to close the season strong.

Wyoming was seen as one of the favorites coming into the year to represent the Mountian West, but injuries have held back the Cowboys. Wyoming has been getting healthier as of late, as shown in their recent play. The Cowboys have just eight wins on their year, but perhaps their most impressive win came a couple of nights ago when they blew out New Mexico on the road. The loss was a significant one for the Lobos, who are on the bubble at the moment.

Air Force comes into play playing to the tune of a 13-14 record. Air Force has struggled in league play, going just 4-10 in the conference. This is a young team that is excited about the pieces that they have for the future, but they are not deep enough to win a lot of games this season. Sophomore Jake Heidbreder has been the star of this team, leading them in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game. He is the only Falcons player averaging double digits, so the game plan for the Cowboys will be to try and take him out of the game and make someone else beat them. Wyoming comes into play as a four-point favorite. 

I have to back the Cowboys tonight on the spread. It is not often that you see an eight-win team at the end of February as a four-point favorite, but I think that this line is undervaluing the Cowboys. As I mentioned earlier, this team has had to deal with a lot of injuries this year, and they are much better than their record indicates. Air Force has struggled to play away from home this year, going just 3-7 on the road. Wyoming, meanwhile, has played their best basketball on their home floor, winning six of their eight games at home. I will trust the Cowboys to take care of business tonight.
