Our picks for Wednesday's NBA action
ANALYSIS

Last night we suffered a loss as the Knicks, yes the freaking Knicks, managed to not only cover the spread against the Magic but also beat them. The Knicks truly are so bad that they can't even tank properly. We've got a nicer slate tonight with nine games ahead. I've decided to focus on two in particular.

Current Record - 13-15-1 (win/lose/push) -3.17u

Sam's NBA picks will reguarly giving you picks for the day's hoop action. I recommend backing these individually but you're welcome to parlay them too. Each pick is staked at one unit.

Warriors @ Heat

Every time I back against the Warriors I get that sense that I'm doing something very stupid. That said it seems to turn out right more often than not.

Any regular followers of this column will know my thoughts on the Warriors, they're the greatest team of the era and in the conversation to be the best of all time, however they don't seem to smash their opponents as often as you'd expect. They'll beat Miami but 9.5 is a big handicap and I can't see them covering it. They're the second worst team in the league in terms of covering the spread, just 42.4% of the time, with Miami showing up favorably when they're the underdog.

Heat +9.5

Clippers @ Jazz

Much like the first pick, this is more about what the better team is, than than the result. The Jazz will win this game but no doubt in a tight scoring affair and not by such a large margin.

Utah's home court strength is well known but the Clippers are one of the small group of teams who have won over 50% of their road games, and currently sport a 17-16-0 record. The two teams share similar records, are level on form with 6-4 records in their last 10, and shouldn't be seperated by as many points as this.

Clippers +10.5
