Our picks for Friday's NBA action

We're bouncing back after losing last night's only game by focusing on the tasty slate of games tonight. I can't wait to sit down and watch the Rockets and 76ers go toe-to-toe but I'm not going near it from a betting perspective. We're picking two home favorites who are favored by the exact same spread. Any guesses who? You may be surprised by one...

Current Record - 20-10-1 (win/lose/push) -0.8u

Sam's NBA picks will regularly be giving you picks for the day's hoop action. I recommend backing these individually but you're welcome to parlay them too. Each pick is staked at one unit.

Raptors @ Pelicans

First up we're at the Smoothie King Center and betting heavily against the Pelicans. There's not much that needs to be said but they've been dreadful this season and Anthony Davis' midseason trade has damaged them further. He's been playing around 20 minutes per game recently, and although he's done really well in those minutes, it probably isn't going to be enough to topple the Raptors if it happens again.

Raptors -6.5

Nuggets @ Warriors

This may surprise regular readers who'll know I routinely bet against due to their inability to cover the spread (they have the worst home record in the entire league ATS). I try to make the majority of my picks on stats, rather than just intuition but this just jumps out a very short margin of victory.

The books are all too well aware about the Warrior's failure to cover and it's sstarting to feel like perhaps they're almost going the other way. A 7 point swing is very, very possible, especially if Klay Thompson does play, in which case this line will quickly change.

Warriors -6.5
