Take a look at today’s NBA picks:
BET OF THE DAY
- The San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves, two teams heading in different directions, will play each other on Wednesday night at the Target Center in Minnesota. Here’s a key stat for you: The Spurs are 2-8 against the spread so far this season, which is one of the worst records in the NBA.
The visiting Spurs have lost four out of five games, including their last two games against the Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies.
LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 19 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Spurs in a 113-109 loss to the Grizzlies in their last game.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are coming off an impressive win over the Detroit Pistons in their last game. Andrew Wiggins finished with 33 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Wolves in a 120-114 win over Detroit.
Karl-Anthony Towns added 25 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two blocks for Minnesota.
The bet here is Minnesota at home.
Roll with the Wolves minus the points in this matchup. They are 5-4-1 against the spread so far this season.
2u – Timberwolves (-2) @ -105
The visiting Wizards are currently on a two-game skid, while the Celtics have won eight games in a row and haven’t suffered a loss since opening night against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Thomas Bryant led the Wizards with 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists in a 113-100 loss to the Cavaliers in their last game. Bradley Beal added 20 points, five boards and nine assists in defeat.
Boston’s last win came against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. Kemba Walker led the way with 29 points, five rebounds and five assists, and Jaylen Brown added 25 points, 11 rebounds and three assists for the Celtics in a 116-106 win over Dallas.
The Celtics have a 16-7 record against the spread versus the Wizards in night games since 2014-15, and in their last two matchups, the Celtics have won by 10 or more points.
Roll with the Celtics minus the points at home in this matchup.
1u – Celtics (-9) @ -105
Memphis is coming off a win against the Spurs in San Antonio in its last matchup. Jaren Jackson Jr. had 24 points, six boards and five assists for the Grizzlies in the 113-109 victory, while rookie sensation Ja Morant chipped in nine points, four rebounds and three assists.
The Hornets are currently on a three-game losing streak, with their latest coming against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Cody Zeller led the Hornets with 24 points and seven rebounds, and rookie PJ Washington had 15 points, four boards and four steals in a 114-106 loss to the Sixers.
These two teams have been pretty even over their last 17 matchups since the 2010-11 season.
The Hornets have won nine out of the 17 games, which means the Grizzlies have won eight.
I think Memphis is the more complete basketball team, and I do believe the Grizzlies will come away with the win on the road here.
Take the Grizzlies plus the points in this matchup.
1u – Grizzlies (+1.5) @ -105
