Daily Picks 11/18: Cool Ice Man Luka The Difference For Mavericks
In Sunday’s NBA action, Jamal Murray came away with 39 points, four rebounds, eight assists and three steals for the Denver Nuggets in a 131-114 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Buddy Hield had 35 points, six rebounds, two assists and four steals for the Sacramento Kings in a 100-99 home win over the Boston Celtics.
Take a look at today’s NBA picks:
BET OF THE DAY
The Portland Trail Blazers will visit the Houston Rockets on Monday night.
Here’s a key statistic for this matchup: since 2017-18, the Rockets have a 2-4-1 record against the spread versus the Trail Blazers.
The Rockets, who are led by former MVP James Harden, are seeking an eighth straight victory. Harden is averaging 43 points, 6.7 rebounds, 7.9 assists and 2.3 steals during the winning streak.
Portland is coming off a big win over the San Antonio Spurs. CJ McCollum had 32 points, six rebounds and seven assists for the Blazers in the 121-116 victory.
I ultimately believe the Rockets will come away with the home win over Portland, but the Blazers have a great chance at covering the 6.5 points in this matchup.
Take Portland plus the points at home here.
2u – Trail Blazers (+6.5) @ -105
The Spurs will take a five-game losing streak into Dallas when they face the Mavericks on Monday night.
In their latest loss to the Trail Blazers, LaMarcus Aldridge had 30 points, 13 rebounds and two assists, and DeMar DeRozan contributed 16 points, seven boards and five assists for the Spurs.
The Mavericks, on the other hand, will look to win a second game in a row.
Superstar Luka Doncic had 26 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and two steals for Dallas in a 110-102 win over the Toronto Raptors.
Kristaps Porzingis added 20 points and 15 boards for the Mavs.
The Spurs are 3-10 against the spread through 13 games this season and, quite frankly, I don’t see it getting any easier in this one.
Bettors are expecting the Spurs to put an end to their losing streak as nearly 70 percent of bets have been placed on San Antonio.
I’m telling you to go in the opposite direction. Take the Mavericks minus the 4 points here.
1u – Mavericks (-4) @ -105
The Celtics will be playing in the second game of a back-to-back when they travel to Phoenix to take on the surprisingly hot Suns on Monday night.
Boston had 18 points from Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker contributed 15 points and nine assists in a narrow loss to the Kings.
The Suns will look to win their second game in a row in this matchup.
Kelly Oubre Jr. finished with 30 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals, and Devin Booker had 27 points, seven assists and two steals for Phoenix in a 128-112 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
Through 11 games this season, the Suns have a 9-2 record against the spread, which is by far the best in the NBA.
To add more fuel to the fire, the Celtics have a 1-7 against the spread record over the Suns since the 2015-16 season.
The Suns minus the points is the bet here. Feel confident taking them.
1u – Suns (-2.5) @ -110
