Daily Picks 11/19: Mauling In Memphis
Luka Doncic stole the show on Monday night, posting a 42-point triple-double with 12 assists and 11 rebounds in a 117-110 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
On Tuesday, the Oklahoma City Thunder continue their west coast road trip and take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Here’s a look at today’s NBA picks:
BET OF THE DAY:
Golden State Warriors @ Memphis Grizzlies (-6.5), 8:00 PM:
The Warriors have a 2-7 W/L record at FedExForum after a loss from 2010-11. (Stat taken from Statschecker).
The Warriors (2-12) have all but hit rock bottom as Golden State dropped a seventh straight game, losing to the New Orleans Pelicans 108-100.
Draymond Green moved from power forward to starting point guard and had limited success. Green scored seven points on 2-of-10 shooting with six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
To make matters worse, Golden State has struggled on the road all season with a 1-6 record and averaging 106.9 ppg.
The Memphis Grizzlies (5-8) snapped a three-game winning streak, falling at home to the Denver Nuggets 131-114.
Jaren Jackson Jr. led the team, shooting lights out (5-of-7) from three-point range for 22 points and five rebounds. Rookie Brandon Clarke came off the bench and contributed a perfect night, shooting 8-of-8 from the field for 19 points.
Take the Grizzlies to cover the spread.
2u - Memphis Grizzlies (-6.5) @ -105
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Los Angeles Lakers (-9.5), 10:30 PM
The Lakers have a 10-8 ATS record against the Thunder at Staples Center since 2010-11. (Stat taken from Statschecker).
The Lakers (11-2) keep the wins coming as Los Angeles won a fourth straight game and improved to 7-1 at home after handling the Atlanta Hawks 122-101.
LeBron James went off for a 33-point double-double with 12 assists and seven rebounds on 13-of-21 shooting, including six made three-pointers.
Kyle Kuzma came off the bench and contributed 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting with five rebounds.
The Oklahoma City Thunder (5-8) fell short of pulling off the road upset in Los Angeles, losing to the Clippers 90-88.
Chris Paul led the way on both ends of the court, totaling a team-high 22 points with four rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Oklahoma City (0-5) is winless on the road this season. Meanwhile, Los Angeles has been impressive at the Staples Center allowing only 95.4 ppg.
Take the Lakers to cover the spread.
1u - Los Angeles Lakers (-9.5) @ -110
Portland Trail Blazers (-3.5) @ New Orleans Pelicans, 8:00 PM:
The Pelicans have a 6-4 ATS record against the Trail Blazers at Smoothie King Center from 2014-15. (Stat taken from Statschecker).
The Portland Trail Blazers (5-9) struggled to keep up in Houston despite shooting over 40 percent from the field as a team, losing to the Rockets 132-108.
CJ McCollum knocked down five three-pointers for a team-high 25 points with five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Portland will look for support from newly acquired forward Carmelo Anthony, who could make his debut on Tuesday night.
The Pelicans (4-9) got back on track by defeating the Warriors.
J.J. Redick knocked down six three-pointers and posted 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Jrue Holiday added a near triple-double, scoring 22 points with nine assists and eight rebounds.
Three of New Orleans’ four wins this season have come at home (3-4), yet they’ve been too inconsistent for me to see them covering the spread.
Take the Trail Blazers to cover the spread.
1u - Portland Trail Blazers (-3.5) @ -110
