Daily Picks 01/13: Sixers Off The Pace
In Sunday’s NBA games, Bojan Bogdanovic finished with 31 points, three rebounds and three assists for the Utah Jazz in a 127-116 win over the Washington Wizards. Rudy Gobert added 21 points and 14 rebounds in the victory.
For the New York Knicks, Julius Randle had 26 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 124-121 home victory over the Miami Heat. RJ Barrett contributed 23 points, five boards and three assists for the Knicks.
Here are Today’s NBA Picks:
BET OF THE DAY:
Philadelphia 76ers @ Indiana Pacers
- Since the 2015-16 NBA season, the Philadelphia 76ers have a 6-10 against the spread record against the Indiana Pacers. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)
The Indiana Pacers will look to win back-to-back games when they square off against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night.
In their last game on Friday night against the Chicago Bulls, Myles Turner finished with 27 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in a 116-105 win.
The Sixers have lost five in a row away so the Pacers at home plus the points is the pick here.
2u – Pacers (+1.5) @ -110
Chicago Bulls @ Boston Celtics
- The Chicago Bulls have a 2-8 against the spread record at TD Garden since the 2016-17 NBA season. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)
The Boston Celtics will look for consecutive wins when they host the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.
Jayson Tatum finished with 41 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Celtics in a 140-105 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Kemba Walker added 17 points, seven assists and five rebounds, and Gordon Hayward chipped in 19 points, five boards and three assists.
Tatum is easily the difference maker for the Celtics. The former Duke-product has scored in double figures in 28 straight games.
Boston is 15-3 at the TD Garden and the Bulls are 1-15 this season against teams with a .500 record or better.
The Celtics came away with a 111-104 win over the Bulls back on Jan. 4. Tatum finished with 28 points and seven rebounds in that victory.
Take the Celtics minus the 9 points in this matchup.
1u – Celtics (-9) @ -110
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Minnesota Timberwolves
- Since the 2017-18 NBA season, the Minnesota Timberwolves have a 7-1 against the spread record in night games against the Oklahoma City Thunder. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)
The Minnesota Timberwolves are coming off a loss to the Houston Rockets on Saturday.
Jarrett Culver finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the 139-109 defeat. Gorgui Dieng added 14 points and six boards.
The 30-point loss was Minnesota’s largest margin of defeat this season.
I do expect the Wolves to bounce back especially if Karl-Anthony Towns returns from his left knee injury that sidelined him for 13 games this season.
Minnesota is currently 5-8 without Towns over that stretch of games. Towns is averaging 26.5 points and 11.7 rebounds in 23 games this season, so his presence is needed in the Wolves lineup.
Minnesota plus the 3.5 points is the pick in this matchup.
1u – Timberwolves (+3.5) @ -110
