ANALYSIS

In Monday’s NBA action, Jayson Tatum finished with a team-high 21 points to go along with six rebounds, two assists and two blocks for the Boston Celtics in a 113-101 victory over the Chicago Bulls.

For the Oklahoma City Thunder, Danilo Gallinari had 30 points and four rebounds and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 20 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists in a 117-104 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Here are Today’s NBA Picks:

BET OF THE DAY:

Utah Jazz @ Brooklyn Nets

  • Since the 2012-13 NBA season, the Utah Jazz have a 10-5 against the spread record against the Brooklyn Nets. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)

The Utah Jazz will head into Brooklyn on an impressive nine-game winning streak.

On Sunday night against the Washington Wizards, Bojan Bogdanovic finished with 31 points and Rudy Gobert contributed 21 points and 14 rebounds for the Jazz in a 127-116 win.

Not only have the Jazz won nine games in a row, but they’ve won 14 out of 15 games and they are currently in second place in the always tough Western Conference.

Look for the Jazz to keep things trending upward in the right direction.

They are one of the best teams in all of basketball and they will continue to show that in this game against the Nets.

Take Utah minus the 1 point on the road.

2u – Jazz (-1) @ -105

Houston Rockets @ Memphis Grizzlies

  • The Memphis Grizzlies have an 84-60-2 against the spread record in games played during January since the 2010-11 NBA season. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)

The Memphis Grizzlies are another team currently on a roll.

Jonas Valanciunas finished with a team-high 31 points to go with 19 rebounds and two blocks for the Grizzlies in a 122-102 win over the Golden State Warriors to claim their sixth straight victory.

Since a Dec. 7 loss to the Jazz, Memphis has a 12-6 record.

The Grizzlies entered Monday third in the league in pace, averaging 103.3 possessions per contest.

There are six Grizzlies players averaging 20-plus minutes, five of them are 27 or younger, including Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr.

I like the Grizzlies plus the 4.5 points in this matchup.

I am unsure if they ultimately win this game, however I believe Memphis will cover the point spread.

1u – Grizzlies (+4.5) @ +100

Dallas Mavericks @ Golden State Warriors

  • Since the 2017-18 NBA season, the Dallas Mavericks have a 7-3 against the spread record against the Golden State Warriors. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)

The Dallas Mavericks will look to win a second straight game on Tuesday night against the Golden State Warriors.

In their last game on Saturday, Luka Doncic finished with 19 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds and Dwight Powell added 19 points and 12 rebounds in a 109-91 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Here is a key statistic that can happen for the Mavericks in this game: Dallas can become the first team since 1962 to score 140 or more points three times in the same season against the Warriors.

Doncic recorded a triple-double in each game and the Mavericks won each one by final scores of 142-94 and 141-121.

I highly doubt the Mavericks will reach the 140-point milestone for a third time, but I do believe they win this basketball game.

Take the Mavs minus the 8.5 points here.

1u – Mavericks (-8.5) @ -105
