Here are Today’s NBA Picks:
BET OF THE DAY:
Miami Heat @ Orlando Magic
- Since the 2015-16 NBA season, the Miami Heat have a 108-74-3 against the spread record as an away team in night games. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)
The Miami Heat will look to rebound after a home loss to the Boston Celtics. Goran Dragic had a team-high 23 points with four assists and two steals, and Jimmy Butler added 20 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals for the Heat in a 109-101 loss.
The Heat and Magic actually squared off on Monday night. In that game, Bam Adebayo finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, and Butler added 19 points and seven assists in the 113-92 win over Orlando.
Nikola Vucevic had 13 points, 12 rebounds and four assists for the Magic in the loss.
The Heat defended their home court, and I do expect them come away with this road win in Orlando.
Take Miami minus the 2 points in this matchup.
2u – Heat (-2) @ -105
Philadelphia 76ers @ Boston Celtics
- The Philadelphia 76ers have a 5-11 against the spread record against the Boston Celtics since the 2017-18 NBA season. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)
The Boston Celtics will try to win a third straight game when they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. In their last game against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, Gordon Hayward had 25 points and eight rebounds for the Celtics in a 119-104 win.
The Celtics and Sixers will play for a fourth time this season. Philadelphia has won the previous three meetings so far. Despite losing to the Sixers back on Dec. 12 at the TD Garden, the Celtics are 19-5 on their home court.
There’s no way the Celtics get swept four games against the Sixers. Take Boston at home here.
1u – Celtics (-3) @ -110
Charlotte Hornets @ San Antonio Spurs
- Since the 2012-13 NBA season, the San Antonio Spurs have a 5-2 against the spread record against the Charlotte Hornets at the AT&T Center. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)
The San Antonio Spurs will try to win consecutive games when they host the Charlotte Hornets.
On Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz, DeMar DeRozan had a game-high 38 points with five rebounds and five assists for the Spurs in a 127-120 win. Rudy Gay added 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists off the bench.
This is the first of two games between the Spurs and Hornets this season.
The Hornets actually swept San Antonio in both games last season, but the Spurs hold a 41-17 all-time advantage over Charlotte, including a 21-8 record in San Antonio.
The Spurs at home minus the 8.5 points is the pick here. Take San Antonio.
1u – Spurs (-8.5) @ -110
