ANALYSIS

PICK OF THE DAY: (2u) HAWKS +6 @ -110

Atlanta Hawks @ Orlando Magic, 7:00 PM:

  • Since the 2010-11 NBA season, the Orlando Magic have an 18-25 against the spread record against the Atlanta Hawks. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)__.

The reason we’re backing the Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks will look to make it back-to-back wins when they square off against the Orlando Magic on Monday night.

Point guard Trae Young finished with 48 points and 13 assists for the Hawks in a 140-135 overtime victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday night.

John Collins added 32 points, 16 rebounds and three assists for the Hawks in the win.

Look for the Hawks to play a competitive game against Orlando in this matchup. With Young, Collins and company, Atlanta should have a chance to win this game.

There’s no doubt about it that you should take the Hawks and the 6 points here.

(1u) Spurs +7.5 @ -105

San Antonio Spurs @ Denver Nuggets, 9:00 PM:

  • The San Antonio Spurs have a 13-7 against the spread record at the Pepsi Center since the 2010-11 NBA season. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)__.

The reason we’re backing the Spurs

Since the San Antonio Spurs headed on its road tour, they’ve lost four straight games.

In their last game against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night, Dejounte Murray finished with 17 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and three steals and LaMarcus Aldridge added 12 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in a 122-102 loss.

The Denver Nuggets, on the other hand, are on a three-game winning streak, and they’ve won seven out of their last nine games.

This is the first time these two teams are meeting since the first round of the playoffs last season. Denver ended up defeating the Spurs in Game 7 by a final score of 90-86.

The Spurs will have their work cut out for them, but they will need to get things turned around in this road game against a quality opponent in Denver.

I like San Antonio plus the 7.5 points in this ball game.

(1u) Lakers -11.5 @ -110

Phoenix Suns @ Los Angeles Lakers, 10:30 PM:

  • Since the 2016-17 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers have an 8-5 against the spread record in night games against the Phoenix Suns. (Stat courtesy of Statschecker)__.

The reason we’re backing the Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers will look to win consecutive games when they host the Phoenix Suns on Monday.

Anthony Davis led the way with 27 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals and LeBron James added 22 points, 11 assists and eight boards in a 125-120 win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.

Kyle Kuzma added 12 points, six assists and three steals off the bench.

The Lakers weren’t their normal selves against the Warriors as they committed an uncharacteristic 24 turnovers and James led the way with a game-high seven turnovers.

The Lakers and Suns last met back on Jan. 1 and behind a triple-double from James, the Lakers came away with a 117-107 victory. James had 31 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists.

Look for the Lakers to take care of business at home in this one. Take Los Angeles minus the 11.5 points.
