Brian Good gives us his NBA 4-leg Same Game Parlay
ANALYSIS

Thursday’s nightcap is the best game on the schedule and the one we’ll be focusing on for tonight’s FanDuel Same Game Parlay. The East-leading Philadelphia 76ers travel out West to take on the Portland Trail Blazers. The Sixers are led by budding MVP candidate Joel Embiid who is putting up the best season of his career. Meanwhile, Portland’s Damian Lillard is third in the league in scoring with 29.4 points per game

There are four wagers for Thursday's Sixers vs. Blazers game that I have my eyes on, and I’m going to take advantage of FanDuel’s generosity and package them in a 4-leg parlay to try and win big.

4-Leg Parlay @ +1093 - $50 Bet Wins $546

Leg 1: Sixers -5.5 @ -110

I think the Sixers probably win this game. Under Brett Brown, this is definitely a game they would have dropped. You could have bet the house on Blazers ML, but this is a much different team under Doc Rivers. Still, this is Game 2 of a four-game road trip against a team with perhaps the best backcourt in the NBA, so I expect a close game throughout.

The thing that sticks out to me here is Portland’s record ATS at home. The Trail Blazers are the second worst team in the NBA ATS at home with a 3-8 record, and they’re 0-2 ATS as home underdogs. This won’t be an easy cover for Philly, it’ll be back and forth throughout, but this is one where I see late free throws pushing it to an 8-10 point Sixers win.

Leg 2: Joel Embiid Over 29.5 Points @ -110

Leg 3: Joel Embiid Over 11.5 Rebounds @ -118

There is, perhaps, not a single player on the face of the Earth playing better basketball than Joel Embiid right now. Not only is he one of the best defensive players in the NBA, he’s become virtually unstoppable on offense.

Embiid is coming off one of his worst game of recent memory on Monday, and he still put up 25 points and 17 rebounds in a win. He can stretch away from the hoop and make you extend your defense, he can post up on the low block and most importantly he draws an insane amount of fouls. He’s broken 30 points in seven of his last nine games, and the two times he didn’t were 25-point and 28-point performances.

They just lost to this Portland team at home (without Ben Simmons) and I think the MVP candidate from Cameroon will be looking for revenge. I’m loading up on props for Joel.

Leg 4: Tobias Harris Over 1.5 Three Pointers @ -125

Part of the reason the Sixers have been able to go from solid team to contender this season has been the emergence of Tobias Harris. Harris was flat out bad under Brett Brown but looks so much more comfortable in Doc Rivers’ offensive sets.

Before he was traded to the Sixers, he was shooting 43.4% from three-point range under Rivers while playing for the Clippers. He comes to Philadelphia and shoots 32.6% from deep for the remainder of the 2018-2019 season and follows it up with a 36.7% performance last year. Now, with Doc manning the bench in Philly, Tobias is back to shooting over 43% from beyond the arc. I expect points in this one and a relatively fast pace. Harris has been getting up shots lately and all we need is 2 here. I love the over on his three pointers.
