Brian Good gives us his NBA 3-leg Same Game Parlay

Another night, another FanDuel Same Game Parlay falling painfully short of hitting. We hit on Jazz -6.5 and Donovan Mitchell over 25.5 points, but couldn’t even get the Heat to break 100 in order to get the over to cash. So, tonight we’re going back out West and focussing our attention on the Orlando Magic vs. Phoenix Suns.

There are three bets for Sunday's Magic-Suns game that I have my eyes on, and I’m going to take advantage of FanDuel’s generosity and package them in a 3-leg parlay to try and win big.

3-Leg Parlay @ +447 - $50 Bet Wins $223

Leg 1: Orlando Magic +10 @ -105

Leg 2: Phoenix Suns ML @ -550

We’re in a little bit of a tough spot here. I love this Phoenix team and think they’re one of the most underrated squads in basketball. But, they’re playing the second half of a back-to-back after a hard-fought win over a tough Sixers team on Saturday. They have the skill to still get a win against a bad Magic team, so I’m adding them in on the moneyline despite a bad price, but I do think this game is closer than 10 points.

Early in the season, the Suns were making bettors that tailed them a lot of money, and they still are, but I think sportsbooks are starting to realize how good they are and are properly pricing them now. Orlando is a scrappy team with one of the most underrated players in the entire league, Nikola Vucevic. The Magic are coming off a win over the Kings and a game where they played the Warriors tough. I really think we’re going to see them hang around with the more talented Suns squad before Phoenix eventually pulls out the win.

Leg 3: Under 215 @ -110

I despise betting the under. Something about rooting for teams not to score seems wrong from both a competitive and entertainment standpoint. But, both these teams are in the bottom half of the league in points per game. Not to mention, Phoenix goes under in 56% of their games while the Magic are at a 50/50 split so far in 2021.

As I started writing, the total was at 216 and dropped a full point before I could even finish. Still, the under seems the logical play here, despite how much I can’t stand rooting for chaos. The Magic’s best scorer dominates the low post, but I expect Deandre Ayton to make life tough for him. 105-110 points may win this game.
