ANALYSIS

Charlotte Hornets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

The Hornets are coming off a disappointing loss to Portland and will look to go into the break on a better note. Fortunately, they face a bad Timberwolves team in their final game of the first half of the season.

The draw for this game is the battle of two top-3 picks, Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball. Even with Gordon Hayward likely still out, Ball's Hornets are the better team. The spread is miniscule at Timberwolves -1, and the odds for each team are about the same, but Charlotte is the safer bet here.

Golden State Warriors vs. Portland Trail Blazers

When these two teams faced off in San Francisco earlier in the season, Stephen Curry put up a career-high 62 points. Curry and Damian Lillard always get up to face each other.

Kelly Oubre has rounded into form after an awful start to the season for the Warriors, while the Blazers are getting solid contributions on the offensive end from Gary Trent Jr., Anfernee Simons and Carmelo Anthony with CJ McCollum sidelined. Somehow, the odds are better for the over (-105) than the under (-110), which is never a great idea when these two teams play.

The Pick: Over 235.5 points @ -105 (Click To Bet)

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Sacramento Kings

The Kings' odds barely moved at all (down to +146 from +150) when it was announced that LeBron James will miss his first game of the season, sitting out the second half of the Lakers' back-to-back after Tuesday's loss to Phoenix, ahead of the All-Star Game.

The Lakers had begun to turn things around with wins over Portland and Golden State before losing to the Suns, and going into the break with two straight losses isn't ideal. But the Lakers are focused on the long term and given that they have a potential deep playoff run ahead of them, don't be surprised if James isn't the only player with a lighter load against Sacramento.

The Kings, meanwhile, have no reason not to go all-out in this game—if they're resting anybody, it will be Thursday against Portland on their own back-to-back.
