Brian Good gives us his NBA 3-leg Same Game Parlay
ANALYSIS

The NBA All-Star break is over and that means regular season basketball is back. Sure, technically it was back last night but Thursday brings us our first full slate of games since last week. Tonight, I’m shifting my attention to Sixers vs. Bulls. The 76ers will be without their two best players in Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. They’re going to struggle. But should the East’s No. 1 team really be 3.5-point dogs against team that’s two games below .500? Let’s take a look.

There are three bets for Thurdsay's Sixers/Bulls game that I have my eyes on, and I’m going to take advantage of FanDuel’s generosity and package them in a 3-leg parlay to try and win big.

3-Leg FanDuel Same Game Parlay @ +616 - $50 wager wins $308

Leg 1: Philadelphia 76ers +3.5 @ -110

The Sixers are a completely different team without Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons on the floor. Sure, they’ll miss them on offense, but the real difference will come on the defensive end. Simmons and Embiid are two of the top-10 defensive players in the entire NBA, so not having them is going to sting. The reason I’m backing the Sixers is I think this team, with Doc Rivers at the helm, is different than in years past.

Dwight Howard is about as good of a backup veteran center as you’ll find across the league. He can’t do nearly as many things as Embiid on offense, but he’s still a strong rim protector and has shown up in spurts off the bench this year. Plus, it’s not like the roster is completely useless without Embiid and Simmons. Tobias Harris has been great this season and I expect a lot of shots for Seth Curry, Danny Green and Shake Milton. They won’t run away with it, they probably won’t even win, but there’s no reason they can’t stay within a possession of Chicago.

Leg 2: Over 227.5 @ -112

Leg 3: Zach LaVine Over 30 Points @ +130

Like I said, the Sixers’ defense is going to hurt without their two superstars. There are going to be runs throughout this game where Philly can’t buy a stop, especially with Zach LaVine on the other end. So, I’m hammering both these overs.

Both these teams hit the over at more than a 50% clip so far this year. So why, when the two best defensive players on either team are out, would we ride anything except the over? Usually, I might expect a slow start out of the All-Star game following the break, but not in this one.

So both these legs kind of go together. I expect Zach LaVine to absolutely go off tonight with no one there to stop him on Philadelphia. The key will be Sixers like Green, Curry and Milton making open shots in order to keep up with Chicago’s pace. I thought about adding Harris over 25 (-124) or over 30 (+220) but you don’t necessarily know who is going to have a big game for the Sixers. So the total going over and a big night for LaVine are my plays.
