Brian Good gives us his NBA 3-leg Same Game Parlay
ANALYSIS

We hit two of three legs in last night’s FanDuel Same Game Parlay. The Sixers covered, the total went over but Zach LaVine struggled to get much of anything going with Matisse Thybulle getting the start in Ben Simmons’ absence. So, it’s back to the drawing board tonight as we take a look at the Pelicans vs. Cavaliers game tonight.

There are three bets for Friday's Pelicans vs. Cavs game that I have my eyes on, and I’m going to take advantage of FanDuel’s generosity and package them in a 3-leg parlay to try and win big.

3-Leg FanDuel Same Game Parlay @ +642 - $50 wager wins $321

Leg 1: Cleveland Cavaliers +8 @ -110

This line is huge for two teams that find themselves in similar places in the standings, especially when the Pelicans lost by 30 points to the Timberwolves last night. This is the second night of a back-to-back for the Pels and the Cavs should be well rested as they haven’t played since before the All-Star break.

Neither of these teams are good against the spread. The Pelicans are 15-22 ATS the season and the Cavaliers are 15-21. The Cavs won four out of five before the break and Collin Sexton is in the middle of a career year. With Andre Drummond sitting out as the team tries to work on a trade, Cleveland will take a hit, but Larry Nance Jr. is expected to play after a finger injury and Darius Garland is questionable. I’m definitely going to take the points here as I don’t trust the Pelicans, especially laying 8.

Leg 2: Over 229 @ -110

Leg 3: Collin Sexton Over 25 Points @ -132

As a rule of thumb this season, when the Pelicans play I bet the over. They score a lot of points and, more importantly, they are bad defensively. Last night they gave up 130 points to a bad Timberwolves team. They have gone over the total in 27 of their 37 games, good for the top mark in the NBA, and they beat the total by an average of 5.6 points every time they take the floor.

The Pelicans have tons of talent on the offensive side of the ball but can’t stop a runny nose. Opponents score an average of 116.4 points per game, the fourth most in the NBA. That leads me to my third leg of the parlay, which is Collin Sexton to score over 25 points. Sexton is awesome. He’s one of the most fun players in the NBA to watch and he’s known for putting the team on his back with historic performances. Against one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA, with fresh legs, Sexton should be in for a massive night tonight.
