Brian Good gives us his NBA 3-leg Same Game Parlay
ANALYSIS

We’re back with another FanDuel Same Game Parlay for Sunday, and this time were focussing on the Philadelphia 76ers vs. San Antonio Spurs game. The Sixers are at home in this one and playing in front of fans in Philly for the first time in over a year. So what can we expect from these two teams? Let’s take a look at the board and try and find some value.

There are three bets for Friday's Pelicans vs. Cavs game that I have my eyes on, and I’m going to take advantage of FanDuel’s generosity and package them in a 3-leg parlay to try and win big.

3-Leg FanDuel Same Game Parlay @ +365 - $50 Bet Wins $182

Leg 1: Philadelphia 76ers -2 @ -110

The Sixers got good and bad news this past week following superstar Joel Embiid hyperextending his knee in the team’s win over the Wizards. The bad news is that Embiid will miss at least 2-3 weeks while he recovers from a bone bruise. The good news is an MRI revealed no structural damage, meaning the NBA’s best center won’t be forced to miss any extended time.

It’s going to be absolutely crucial for the Sixers to stay competitive while Embiid is out. The Brooklyn Nets are 12-1 in their last 13 and just a half game behind Philly for first place in the East. If the Sixers want any shot at holding on, Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, Danny Green and Seth Curry are going to need to step up, and I think they will tonight. We saw the Embiid-less Sixers close out Washington and dominate the Bulls. This San Antonio Spurs team is average, especially as LaMarcus Aldridge sits out while the Spurs work on a trade.

Two points is minimal. I like the Sixers to continue to look good even with Embiid on the sidelines recovering.

Leg 2: Ben Simmons to Score 20+ Points @ +126

Leg 3: Ben Simmons to Record 8+ Rebounds @ -145

Ben Simmons has had a somewhat frustrating tenure in Philadelphia. He is one of the best on-ball defenders in the league, a world-class distributor and is the best rebounding point guard in the NBA. Unfortunately, he’s also been somewhat reluctant to put up the number of shots that some think he needs in order to truly be dominant on offense.

But there are two major factors working in his favor for both these props tonight. No. 1 is that Embiid is out. Not only will there be more shots to go around, but he’ll need to grab boards as well in the big man’s absence. The second, and really most important, factor is that things seem to be clicking for Ben on the offensive end.

In his last seven games he’s averaging 22.7 points on 62.2% shooting. He has found a new aggression on offense, shooting 14 field goals per game during that stretch. With Embiid out, I’m looking for Simmons to be even more “selfish” with the ball in his hand and have a massive game on Sunday.
