FanDuel Same Game Parlay Picks: Orlando Magic vs. Los Angeles Lakers
This game should have featured a bunch of top-tier NBA talents, but Lakers injuries and a trade deadline fire sale for the Magic have kind of stripped this game of any star power. Still, it intrigues me to see some of these names on an NBA floor and I think there are some spots where we can take advantage of the odds.
There are three bets for tonights Magic/Lakers game that I have my eyes on, and I’m going to take advantage of FanDuel’s generosity and package them in a 3-leg parlay to try and win big.
3-Leg Parlay @ +430 - $50 Wager Wins $215
Leg 1: Los Angeles Lakers -6.5 @ -110
The Lakers are not a great team right now with Anthony Davis and LeBron James sidelined with injuries, but the Magic have far and away the worst roster in the NBA following their trade deadline purge of talent.
Without LeBron and AD, the Lakers still feature names like Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Marc Gasol and Dennis Schroder. The Magic? They have a roster that is completely void of starting NBA talent.
I get why the line is just 6.5. The Lakers have been slumping ever since LeBron went down in their game against the Hawks, but I wouldn’t bet on the Magic to win against Gonzaga on Sunday, yet alone the Lakers. Lay the 6.5 points with LA.
Leg 2: Over 208 @ -106
This total is alarmingly low. I know, I just went on and on about how the Magic lack any real NBA talent, but 208 is too tempting to pass up. We’re going to need points from the Magic tonight. The Lakers won’t struggle to put the ball in the basket. In their only game since the trade deadline, Orlando scored 105 in a loss to the Trail Blazers. If we get 105 points from them tonight the total will definitely go over.
After a slow start to the season, rookie Chuma Okeke is coming off a 22-point performance in the loss to Portland. James Ennis III and Khem Birch can also score if given the chance. Let’s hope the Lakers take the Magic lightly on offense and give up some easy baskets.
Leg 3: Montrezl Harrell to Score 20+ @ -145
Harrell is only averaging 15.1 points per game, but in his last 10 games he’s put up 21 points per contest, so I like his chances against a bad Magic team. In the five games since LeBron went down (including the Atlanta game) Harrell has scored at least 20 points 4 times. The only time he didn’t was an 18-point performance against New Orleans.
No more Nikola Vucevic or Aaron Gordon gives Harrell the opportunity to have a huge night on Sunday. I love his chance to go off with close to 30, but I’ll play it safe and just bet on him breaking 20.
