NBA Predictions: Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Brooklyn Nets Picks
We start the Monday slate with a team on a bit of a slide facing the right opponent at the right time.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Up until very recently, the Mavs were riding high right when everyone was starting to pile dirt on their grave.
Following a 9-14 start, Dallas pulled off 14 wins over their next 19 games, complete with the third best net rating in the NBA from February 6 until March 24.
Then they hit a road bump, dropping two games in a row for the first time since January 30 and February 1. It shouldn’t detract from what they’ve been able to accomplish since the early woes, especially since they nearly won their most recent contest in New Orleans despite missing both Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.
Both of the Mavs stars will be back for this one, while the Thunder – owners of the fifth worst net rating in the league and missing their top players Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort and Al Horford, who is going to sit out the rest of the season.
In short, this line couldn’t be high enough.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Brooklyn Nets
It’s hard to put into words just how bad the Timberwolves continue to be.
In their last game, versus the Houston Rockets – who had not long ago ended a 20-game-losing streak – the Wolves got down by 30 points early in the third quarter, and after the game spoke about how they simply needed to make a better effort.
It’s not the kind of thing you want to hear from a team that recently got a new head coach. Despite the change in direction, Minnesota retains the worst record in the league and the second worst net rating in basketball. They also have the fifth worst record against the spread and are just 8-13-1 as a road underdog.
In Brooklyn, they’ll get a team welcoming back Kyrie Irving and helping James Harden make a run at the MVP. They’ve been scuffling of late, having dropped six of their last eight against the spread, but they’ve also played five of six on the road and the last three without Irving.
They need a get well game. This is it.
The Pick: Brooklyn -11.5 @ -110 (Click To Bet)

Other NBA Games
Miami Heat at New York Knicks
The Knicks just keep covering, now having beaten the spread in seven of eight games to become one of only three teams in the league after the Suns and Jazz with a cover clip of at least sixty percent. They’re giving points to Miami, a team that has dropped six straight on the court and against the spread. Go with the hot team on the road.
Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards
The Pacers have won four of five, including back to back road wins in Miami and a convincing win in Dallas. Washington is coming off a win against the Pistons but had previously lost eight of nine. Give the points on the road.
New Orleans Pelicans at Boston Celtics
The Pelicans barely beat a Doncic & KP-less Mavs team at home one night after losing to Denver at home. Now they face a Boston team coming off solid road wins in Milwaukee and Oklahoma City and introducing Evan Fournier. Go with the home squad.
Toronto Raptors at Detroit Pistons
The Raptors played last night, dropping a home game to the Blazers, making it 11 losses in 12 games. At some point, you are what you are, and they are a team that’s 10 games under .500, going on the road against a feisty Detroit team that has covered six of nine.
Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets
The Rockets continue to have the worst record against the spread in all of basketball, with just 14 covers in 45 tries. They should not be taken against anyone, let alone a Memphis team that is 25-28 against the spread this season.
Sacramento Kings at San Antonio Spurs
The Kings have won six of seven and are making a push for the play in tournament, and they play a Spurs team that had lost four straight before a win over a Bulls team that had changed over a good portion of their rotation. Take the road team getting points.
Cleveland Cavaliers at Utah Jazz
Cleveland is 19-27 against the spread this season and they’re facing the team with the best record in the league that is also 19-2 at home. Don’t overthink this one.
Chicago Bulls at Golden State Warriors
Steph Curry is questionable for this one. His presence will change the line considerably, so bet your gut on whether he plays or not, because if he suits up, Chicago is getting way too many points on the road. If not, take LaVine & Co.
Milwaukee Bucks at Los Angeles Clippers
Finals matchup? The Bucks big three are all back after taking the night off against the Knicks, but LA is banged up, with Serge Ibaka (back), Patrick Beverley (knee) and Rajon Rondo (adductor) all out. Go with the healthier team who also recently won 13 of 14.
