Sean Highkin previews Wednesday's NBA slate and dials in on two games where the value lies
ANALYSIS

Free NBA Picks & Best Bets - Wednesday April 28

NBA expert Sean Highkin provides his picks and predictions for Wednesday's NBA slate exclusively on OddsChecker.  Sean breaks down the Lakers @ Wizards and thinks the Celtics can cover at home hosting the Hornets.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Washington Wizards Predictions

The Wizards have been one of the hottest teams in the least over the past two weeks. The Spurs ended their eight-game winning streak on Monday, but they've shown that they're a serious threat to sneak into the play-in. The line against the Lakers is close enough that it's worth taking them at plus odds to shock the defending champs, who are still without LeBron.

The pick: Wizards ML (+128, FanDuel)

Charlotte Hornets vs. Boston Celtics Predictions

The Celtics are in a bit of a rough patch here—they've lost three in a row, including a shocking loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder and a loss to this same Hornets team they face Wednesday. But the Hornets aren't quite back at full strength yet, with no LaMelo Ball, Malik Monk or Gordon Hayward. Boston losing to this version of Charlotte twice in the same week would be truly cause for concern, and they'll avoid it here.

The pick: Celtics -6.5 (-110, DraftKings)

NBA Expert Picks & Playoff Picture

We've got 10 games on today's NBA slate as the season gets ever-nearer the playoffs.  The playoff picture is getting clearer by the day and the Nets were the first Eastern conference team to clinch a top six playoff place last night with a win over the Raptors.

The Knicks finally lost on Monday after a nine-game winning streak, but currently find themselves in 4th spot in the East - they have a tough schedule to finish the regular season with so holding on to a top six spot could be tricky for the New Yorkers.

In the Western conference, the Jazz have the best record in the league so far and have deservedly got their spot sewn up for the playoffs. The Lakers on the other hand are on a terrible run and will need to get their act together to qualify. Their soft run-in should ensure they do.
