New York Knicks vs. Memphis Grizzlies
The first team to 40 victories against the spread this season? That would be Tom Thibodeau’s New York Knicks, who have made believers very happy all season long by consistently outpacing expectations.
That goes especially true lately. New York went 13-2 against the spread in April, and they had the first ranked net rating in basketball over that time. One of those victories – the first of what would be nine straight – came against these Grizzlies, who the Knicks fought back against late to snatch an overtime win from at Madison Square Garden.
The Grizzlies didn’t let that disappointing outcome deter them though, as they’ve gone 8-5 against the spread since the first matchup, but they’ve also dropped three of four, including an outright loss to the Magic in Orlando on Saturday night.
It shouldn’t diminish what they’ve been able to accomplish. In addition to New York and Phoenix, Memphis is the only other team in the NBA with at least a 60 percent cover rate this season. They come to play every night and will give the Knicks a run for their money, much like they did in the last game.
This one figures to come down to the very end, which means its best to take the team getting the points.
