Wizards vs. Celtics Prediction – Tuesday, May 18

To me, Wizards vs. Celtics is the most interesting matchup in the East as we get top-tier star power from both teams and what should be a really close, really exciting game on Tuesday night. Let’s make some Wizards vs. Celtics predictions.

Wizards vs. Celtics

This is the must-watch game on Tuesday as we get the talented but disappointing Celtics taking on the Wizards, who are playing some of the best basketball they’ve put together all season lately. Bradley Beal appears to be back and Russell Westbrook continues to churn our triple-doubles like it’s easy. Jayson Tatum and the rest of the Celtics will have their work cut out for them, especially with Jaylen Brown out and Kemba Walker in question.

Washington Wizards

Watching the Washington Wizards play basketball is really, really fun. They are almost impossible to guard on offense as Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook rip apart opposing defenses. Beal was the second leading scorer in the NBA this past season with 31.3 points per game. He missed some time due to injury but is back and put up 25 in a season-ending win over the Hornets on Sunday.

Beal can destroy you from anywhere on the court. He shoots lights out, whether he’s catching and shooting or creating off the dribble, and he can get to the hoop despite being undersized for a modern day NBA shooting guard.

As for Russell Westbrook, he just averaged a triple-double throughout the regular season and we barely heard anyone talk about it. Why? Because that’s just what he does. If he needed to score 30 a game for this team, he could. Instead he’s putting up 22-11-11 every single night.

Thomas Bryant, Rui Hachimura, Robin Lopez and Daniel Gafford give this team a solid frontcourt and I’m excited to see how they play this Boston team on Tuesday.

Boston Celtics

A team that was expected to challenge for one of the top spots in the East, the Boston Celtics, instead finds itself playing in the Play-In Tournament following a roller coaster of a regular season. What was once one of the teams trending upward in the division now sees fans calling to fire head coach Brad Stevens and doubting the direction of the roster.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are the real deals. They are both excellent scorers from just about anywhere on the floor. They shoot the ball well, they create off the dribble and they finish at the rim. What more could you ask for from your scoring duo?

The issue hasn’t been Brown and Tatum (Although Brown is out for extended time, so his contributions are irrelevant). The issue has been health and depth. We aren’t really sure yet if we’ll see Kemba Walker come Tuesday night. I assume we will, but it’s impossible to tell. If not, that’s a massive blow for this team.

Wizards vs. Celtics Prediction

If you can’t tell already, I’m fully ready to ride with Washington in my Wizards vs. Celtics prediction. I think this Celtics team is essentially just Jayson Tatum trying to outscore the other team and praying they get contributions from other players. Meanwhile, the Wizards are playing really solid basketball and will have the two best players on the floor come Tuesday night. I flirted with the over here too because the Wizards love to score points, but the number is just too high. Instead, I’, taking the Wizards outright with the little bit of juice I can get at better-than-even odds.
