Trail Blazers vs. Nuggets Prediction: Game 2 Odds, Picks & Betting
Trail Blazers vs. Nuggets Prediction – Monday, May 24
Game 1 was a worst case scenario for Nuggets players and fans. Their worst nightmare was realized as Damian Lillard went off and Denver’s lack of guard play was heavily exploited. Can they fix that for Game 2? Here are my Game 2 Trail Blazers vs. Nuggets predictions.

Trail Blazers vs. Nuggets
Man, Game 1 was an ugly one for Denver. Losing isn’t the real issue. Teams come back from down 1-0 all the time. The issue is how they looked. Portland completely exposed their lack of guard play on their way to a rout. Can Denver change any of that in Game 2?
Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers are probably the most fun playoff team to watch this season. Damian Lillard is appointment TV every time he steps on the floor and his 34-point performance, as he hit five 3-pointers, was more evidence of that.
Some of the things I worried about ahead of Game 1, like Enes Kanter not having a real place in the team’s rotation against the Nuggets, was totally right. But I underestimated just how bad the Nuggets guard play would be.
If the Trail Blazers can continue to dominate in the backcourt like this, I’m not even sure how Denver wins a single game let alone the series.
If you told me Nikola Jokic was going to have 34 points and 16 rebounds I would have pencilled in a Denver win. But, I think the more alarming stat is the one assist with which he finished the game. Outside of Michael Porter Jr. and Aaron Gordon, Jokic has absolutely no help.
A single look at the box score makes me chuckle. The entire frontcourt finished with double-digit scoring on around 50% shooting. Meanwhile, Austin Rivers scored six points in 33 minutes and Facundo Campazzo had eight in 32. That’s just not sustainable.
If the Nuggets are going to win the series, or just Game 2 for that matters, they need to get better backcourt play both offensively and defensively. Austin Rivers isn’t great, but he’s better than what e showed on Saturday night.
Trail Blazers vs. Nuggets Prediction
I’m not entirely sure anyone could have watched Game 1 of this series and go on to pick the Nuggets in Game 2. It’s a pubby pick, but sometimes you have to do it. So, I’m going with the Trail Blazers moneyline at better-than-even odds. We all knew missing Jamal Murray was going to hurt, but I don’t think anyone expected it to look like this. Portland is just a terrible matchup for Denver and I can’t see them winning Game 2 or the series. This one could get ugly.
