Hawks vs. 76ers Prediction: Game 2 Odds, Picks & Betting
The 76ers haven’t been the most consistent team this season, at least not where a typical one-seed is concerned. That said, at home, they have a bit of a track record of resilience.
For starters, Philly’s Game 1 loss to Atlanta was their first loss at home since April 21 to Phoenix. Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris both missed that game though, as well as the prior game to Golden State, which the Sixers lost well.
That was the only time all season Philadelphia dropped back to back games in their home arena. They also marked two of just four times all year that the Sixers lost home games when Joel Embiid was active.
Embiid clearly isn’t himself right now, but he was also able to gut out 39 points on just 21 shots, and the Hawks had no answer for him down the stretch of Game 1, when Philly trimmed a 26-point first half lead all the way down to three with just under 30 seconds remaining.
Nate McMillan said afterwards that Atlanta was lucky to win the game with how they executed down the stretch, and he wasn’t wrong. It’ hard to imagine that the home team will be as ill-prepared for this one, and with their history of home dominance, it’s very possible this one isn’t close.
