That has to be how the Clippers are looking at this after arguably getting the toughest of the three games they’ll need to push their way to the NBA Finals.

Game 6, after all, is in their building, where they had won five straight before going through an almost unfathomable shooting slump in the fourth quarter (and really, much of) Game 4.

And Game 7, should it get that far, would mean that the Suns had lost two straight. All the tightness that comes with being a perpetually snake-bitten franchise led by a player who has had his fair share of playoff shortcomings would come into play. Even besides Chris Paul though, a Game 7 for Booker, Ayton and Bridges would represent easily their toughest test yet, and they’ve yet to be pushed to the limit in this postseason, with the closest such moment coming when they were down 2-1 to a banged up Lakers team that wasn’t anywhere close to full strength.

These Clippers aren’t fully healthy either, what with Kawhi Leonard looking more doubtful to return by the day, but at this point, should that be a reason to doubt them? LA is now 4-3 since Kawhi went down and have outscored their opponents – the top two seeds in the West, and the top two teams in the league record-wise, mind you – by 21 points in that time.

Los Angeles has proven a couple things over those seven game, and really, over this entire postseason. For one, they’re easily the most malleable team left, as they showed by making small ball work for them sans Ivica Zubac in Game 5. They also can’t be beat when they’re hitting shots, but also capable of winning even when they aren’t.

Most of all, they have shown their mettle, never once getting deterred despite seemingly impossible odds again and again and again.

At this point, doubt them at your own risk. I’m certainly not going to though.
