NBA Player Prop Picks: The Best Bets For Wednesday Night

Wednesdays in the NBA are all about finding a couple of moves and letting them fly. We've got 10 games on the NBA slate tonight, so there's no way the books are on top of all of them. Especially in the player prop markets. It's just not possible. At least, I don't think so. After going over every single player prop market (twice) and doing mental simulations on every line, there are two moves that look to be worth betting. We need something we can be proud of, and we can certainly be proud of these two.

Franz Wagner Over 11.5 points (-105)

Magic vs. Hornets Odds

I went to BetMGM on this one, but FanDuel was pretty competitive as well. They posted this at 11.5 -108, so it's not far off. Surprisingly enough, DraftKings has nothing posted for Wagner, but I would expect something to come out soon enough. So it would make no sense for them not to post anything.

The NBA prop betting streets are full of people looking for undervalued assets. At least the nice ones are. One such asset is Franz Wagner. The rookie has only played four games in his NBA career, so the books really don't know how to value him. All I know is he's scored in the double digits in every game so far.

We only need Wagner to score 12 points tonight, and it looks like he is a good bet to do that. He's getting regular minutes in a game that should stay relatively close. Especially with Orlando at home. On top of that, the pace should be elevated a bit since the Hornets play at the 4th fastest pace in the NBA. Only five teams see their opponents take more threes, so there is that angle as well. I think this kid is in a great environment to score at least 12 points tonight.

Harrison Barnes Over 2.5 Made Threes (+155)

Suns vs. Kings Odds

We have choices to make tonight, people. Over at BetMGM, you can get this at 1.5 -200, and while I like layups, we're betting threes here. If you just go over to DraftKings, you can do 2.5 at +155. FanDuel is pretty much the same, with 2.5 at (+154). So let's gamble a little.

I hate 2.5 for threes, but for Barnes, we might need to consider him to be a 3.5 guy. If you can get a 3.5 guy at 2.5 (+155), then you do it until these books adjust. For starters, Barnes has taken 10 or more three-point attempts twice already. He's only played three games. The time he didn't was against Utah, and he took six that night. Keep in mind the Jazz has the best three-point defense in the NBA.

The Kings are going from playing the best three-point defense in the NBA to the worst in the Phoenix Suns. Teams are hitting 43% of their treys against them. That's probably why only four teams in the NBA have seen their opponents take more three-point attempts. Here's the bottom line with this one. We're looking at a guy who could take 10+ threes tonight, and right now, he's hitting 55.6% from downtown. This feels like a good bet.
