NBA props expert John Hyslop is here with his top player prop pick for Thursday night's NBA action.

NBA Player Prop Picks: The Best Bet For Thursday Night

I know that the NFL still has a stranglehold on Thursday nights, but that doesn't mean we can't bet a little basketball. It's always nice to take a peek at the NBA in your score app if you're out or to hit the back button on your remote if you're watching at home. Obviously, we want to make a good bet, but I think we have one in the Utah Jazz-Atlanta Hawks game at 7:30 pm ET. It's the kind of bet that can cash at halftime or late in the fourth. It's all deadly, really.

Clint Capela Over 10.5 points (-115)

Hawks vs. Jazz Odds

DraftKings is where I went with this one since they have 10.5. BetMGM pulled their line for some reason, and FanDuel is running with 11.5 for -102. This guy isn't one that you want to take any risks on in the points department, so we'll go with 10.5 at DraftKings.

Playing a Clint Capela points prop is the pinnacle of existence. This guy could drop 20 in the first half or four in 38 minutes. You never really know what you're going to get with him, but he is in good form at the moment, so we might be able to trust him here.

Over his past four games, Capela has gotten over this number all four times. The issue with him is he doesn't take enough shots, but he's taken at least seven in all four games, which is the floor we want. He'll get Rudy Gobert tonight, so it's not the best matchup, but he dropped 16 on these guys in a game last season, so he's up for the challenge.

Gobert's presence should keep Capela on the floor tonight, which is another angle. At the end of the day, 11 points is a very low bar to clear for a guy like Capela that should see at least 30 minutes. The Hawks would be smart to go at Gobert since he was listed on the injury report yesterday, so that's another angle. We don't need a lot to happen to get home on this number.
