NBA Player Prop Picks for Tuesday: Max Attempts Equals Maxey Points

It's a light night on the hardwood with only three games, but this is where the cream rises to the top. Anybody can find magic on giant 11-game slates, but can we mix something up on the 3-contest nights? The answer is yes, people. This is America, and we can do whatever we want. On nights like this, you just have to look a little deeper. Maybe turn over a couple of extra stones and do a few more mental simulations. Then, you can do whatever you put your mind to.

Tyrese Maxey 20+ Points (+180)

Line available at FanDuel at time of publishing.

I don't understand what the people at FanDuel are trying to prove right now. It's crazy to think they would give us this price on Tyrese Maxey, but here we are. The "Big 3" (DraftKings, BetMGM, and FanDuel) all have Maxey at 16.5 -110, so if you want to go that route, by all means, do it. However, I like to turn it up a notch, so I went 20+ for +180 on FanDuel.

With Joel Embiid (and others) out, Maxey has kicked it up a notch in the scoring department. Over his last three games, he's poured in at least 24 points while taking at least 15 shots in the four games Embiid has missed. Of course, you can't score if you don't shoot, and shot attempts don't seem to be an issue for Maxey.

The only issue with this game is the fact that the 76ers are playing the Utah Jazz and are 9.5-point underdogs. You have to watch out for blowout conditions in the NBA, and a 9.5-line is a red flag. Still, the Jazz have lost four of their last five games and have only really blown out the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. So I'll take my chances tonight and take Maxey to score at least 20 points tonight.
