NBA props expert John Hyslop is back with his second top player prop pick for Tuesday night's NBA action.

NBA Player Prop Picks: Value With a Backup Rookie

I like to give the lines a second look after lunch every day to see what I missed. No matter what, you're always going to miss something. That's just how life works. Normally we get lucky and have injury news, but today, there is no such thing. What we do have is a slight line shift that I think is worth betting into. Plus, it's in the second half of TNT's doubleheader, so there's that too. If we're staying up late watching the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers, we'll need some action.

Devin Vassell Over 11.5 Points (+105)

Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing.

I went to DraftKings for this one as they had the best price at 11.5 +105. If you want to go to BetMGM, do that. They are hanging 11.5 for +100, which isn't all bad. I didn't see anything at FanDuel, but they still could jump in. They are worth checking closer to tip-off.

I absolutely hate playing Spurs' players because Gregg Popovich is forever tinkering with lineups. It's not usually drastic, but it's enough to separate you from your cash. Still, tonight I think I may have galaxy-brained Gregg a little.

This line for this game is pretty high, so there is blowout risk, but that could help us since Vassell isn't a starter. Even though he isn't a starter, he plays big minutes, and lately, he has been taking all kinds of shots. Over his last seven games, Vassell has taken at least 11 shots in six of them. He's scored at least 12 points in six of those seven, which is important for us tonight.

The only words of caution I will give is that this bet is a "genius or idiot" move. There's no in-between when you're betting Devin Vassell points props. But he's made geniuses out of people just like us in six of his last seven games. So why won't he do it again?
