NBA Parlay Breakdown

After a 100% success yesterday, we're keeping this train rolling into the weekend. Today we're going for the powerhouses and expecting results that powerhouses usually get.

First up, we have the league-leading Golden State Warriors against the stern but rebuilding Detroit Pistons. We have the 1st ranked team in net rating facing off against the 29th ranked team in net rating, the second-best offense against the third-worst offense. Basically, this is a David vs. Goliath situation, but we're expecting Goliath to win. The Warriors, who are 8-1 in November, have not yet submitted an injury report. Still, it's likely to remain the same as it has, with Klay Thompson and James Wiseman continuing their recovery. Kelly Olynyk is a big miss for Detroit, as they could sorely use his floor spacing and physicality on the interior. We're expecting the Warriors to continue with their current form here and stroll past the Pistons while also being excited about seeing a possible Steph Curry vs. Cade Cunningham matchup.

The Orlando Magic are 4-11 and have struggled for most of November but came to life against the New York Knicks on Wednesday to snap their losing streak. Unfortunately for the Magic, their next opponent is the Brooklyn Nets, who might not be at full strength but still possess enough talent to win their contest. Nic Claxton, Joe Harris, Kyrie Irving, and Paul Millsap are all absent for the Nets heading into tonight, while the Magic continue to operate without Markelle Fultz, Jonathan Isaac, Michael Carter-Williams, Jalen Suggs, and E'Twuan Moore. Brooklyn is still figuring things out on offense, but their defense sits 5th in the league, meaning the offensively short-handed Magic will have a tough time finding buckets. We're expecting the Nets to win this one and feel confident a -8 spread is great value heading into the contest.

Finally, the Los Angeles Clippers take on the New Orleans Pelicans, who remain without Zion Williamson. Ty Lue's team boasts an 8-2 record in November and will be looking to avenge their 12 point loss to the Memphis Grizzlies from earlier this week, while the Pelicans only have two wins to their name and sit bottom of the league in defensive rating. Paul George has been exceptional to start the season, showing his All-Star status with a mix of scoring, playmaking, and defense, and should give the Pelicans nightmares when trying to guard him this evening. Despite Brandon Ingram being back in New Orleans' rotation, the team is still struggling to generate wins and is likely to struggle all season. As such, we're taking the Clippers to cover a -3 spread, which is conservative but allows us some scope to see this multi-parlay over the line.

Same-Game Parlay Picks: Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers

  • Boston Celtics +10
  • Total points under 219.5
  • Odds: -113

Celtics vs. Lakers odds

The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers have struggled to start the season, but for very different reasons. The Lakers' issues have primarily stemmed from injuries to multiple key rotation players, while the Celtics have lacked confidence and adjusting to a whole new coaching team. Heading into tonight's game, the Celtics will be waiting on decisions about Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams. They head into the day listed as questionable, while the Lakers are sweating on LeBron James (questionable) and Anthony Davis (probable). Trevor Ariza continues to recover from a right ankle injury also. Unfortunately, the Celtics are in poor form and are struggling to see their shots fall, despite more than 50% of their attempts being open, but the Laker's aren't fairing much better. This historic rivalry will bring out the best in both teams, but their limitations will likely turn into a slugfest. As such, we're covering our bases by giving the Celtics a +10 spread, meaning if they lose, we think it will be in a close game, and if they win, we win.

Same-Game Parlay Picks: Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns

  • Dallas Mavericks +10
  • Over 206.5 points
  • Odds: +156

Mavericks vs. Suns odds

Luka Doncic starts the day listed as doubtful for tonight's clash between the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns, while Maxi Kleber also continues his recovery. Without the stellar talent of Doncic, the Mavericks will be reliant upon their other star in Kristaps Porzingis, which may or may not work out well. The Phoenix Suns have gotten things rolling throughout the month, and their 0.5 offense has been back in full swing for Monty Williams men. In terms of team form, the Suns boast an 11-3 record and are undefeated for the month of November, while the Mavericks are 9-5 and have been inconsistent throughout the month. It's also worth noting that these teams faced each other on Wednesday night, with the Suns winning the game 105-88, snapping the Mavericks two-game mini win streak. Another interesting fact is that the Mavericks haven’t defeated the Suns since November 29th 2019, which makes me even more confident heading into tonight’s game. We're expecting a similar result tonight but factoring in the potential absence of Doncic by giving Dallas a +10 spread, and to be honest, even that might be too low.
