NBA Parlay Breakdown
With Luka Doncic questionable heading into tonight's game, we can't, in good faith, expect the Dallas Mavericks to overcome a Los Angeles Clippers team that is currently garnering ALL-NBA level production out of Paul George. The Clippers sit second in defensive rating but are coming off of two bad losses, the most recent being to the New Orleans Pelicans, so they will be out for a W to get their momentum back on track. Additionally, Dallas' 19th ranked offense will make it difficult to break down the Clippers' defensive scheme, especially if Doncic cannot play. As such, we can't bank on Dallas winning this game with such a sizeable unknown hanging over our heads, so what do we do when thing's look murky? Yup! We hedge our bets! We're taking the Mavericks on a +10 spread to either lose by a respectable margin or keep the Clippers' losing streak alive.
Humbled by the Boston Celtics on LeBron James' return to the rotation, the Los Angeles Lakers will have a point to prove when they take on the Detroit Pistons later today. For all their exciting young players, Detroit has only won four games this season and finds themselves sitting 29th in net rating after their first 15 games of the year. Jerami Grant has been scoring well, yet his shot selection has come in for some criticism, but he can be afforded some freedom at times as the team's best offensive weapon. Both LeBron James (Questionable) and Anthony Davis (probable) are game-time decisions for the Lakers, but at least one of them likely plays as the team bids to get something out of their East Coast road trip. We're taking the Pistons on a +15 spread, as we expect them to lose, but we can't see this game turning into an enormous blow-out, and of course, should Detroit find a way to win, we still get the W on this spread bet.
Finally, we have the Toronto Raptors against the Golden State Warriors in a game that will be a fun clash of playing styles. The Warriors love to move the ball and fire away from deep, while the Raptors play hard and fast, using their length and physicality to create havoc on the interior. However, despite the Raptors' impressive start to the year and the boundless energy provided by rookie Scottie Barnes, it's unlikely Nick Nurse's team is able to defeat a Warriors' team gunning for home-court advantage en route to what they hope is a championship. OG Anunoby is questionable heading into tonight's game, and should he not play. It will be a significant loss to the Raptors rotation, which is devoid of difference makes after its top 7 guys. With a 21st ranked defense, it's hard to fathom how the Raptors are going to slow down the Warriors' top-3 offense, and as such, we're taking the Raptors on a massive +17 spread. With such a big head start, we can feel good about hitting on this multi-team parlay and waking up tomorrow looking forward to the week.
Chicago Bulls vs. New York Knicks Same-Game Parlay
- New York Knicks +14
- Over 206.5 points
- Odds: +110

There are some similarities between New York and Chicago. Both started their season strong and performed well before being struck with inconsistency once they entered November. Now, these two Eastern Conference rivals face-off, with neither of them in good form. Both teams are currently struggling to string together multiple wins, yet the Bulls boast a far better record due to their hot start in mid-October. The big difference between these teams comes on the stats sheet, with the Bulls ranking 4th in net rating compared to the Knicks down in 13th, yet, the Knicks were the team to win this pair's first meeting of the season.
With Nikola Vucevic missing this game and Javonte Green being questionable, the Knicks might feel like this is the perfect time to get their season back on track. Still, the offensive trio of Lonzo Ball, Zach Lavine, and DeMar DeRozan has proven to be an electric force and will likely carve the Knicks' lackluster defense to shreds. We're expecting the Bulls to win tonight, but we can't rule out New York finding their groove. So, we're backing the Knicks on a +14 spread, which gives us plenty of wiggle room regardless of how the game shakes out.
Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets Same-Game Parlay
- Denver Nuggets +14.5
- Over 207.5 points
- Odds: +133

Nikola Jokic is questionable heading into tonight's contest, while Michael Porter Jr is out, and Jamal Murray continues to rehab the injury that cut his 2020-21 season short. Denver is potentially lacking three of its four primary weapons, and they're heading into battle with a Phoenix Suns team who are 12-3 on the season and are undefeated in November. It's not looking good for Michael Malone's men. As usual, when a team is missing, or in this case, potentially missing, so many of its stars, stats go out of the window. Without Jokic and Porter Jr., the Nuggets will have to rely on Aaron Gordon to spearhead the offense, which would be fine if the opposing team didn't possess Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton.
Still, unfortunately, it does, so my condolences. Of course, should Jokic be cleared to play, the Nuggets' outlook changes exponentially, but we can't bank on that, so we hedge our bets once again. Denver at +14.5 gives us an opportunity to cash in no matter what happens with Jokic, and as long as Denver plays with some pride and aggression, we will get an excellent little return on this single-game parlay.
