Los Angeles Clippers vs Golden State Warriors Prediction: The Battle of California

Los Angeles Clippers vs Golden State Warriors Prediction

Clippers vs Warriors Odds

Following their upending of the Portland Trail Blazers at home on Friday night, the Warriors have now moved their record to 17-2. It is getting close to the point of absurdity how easy they are making it look. Their league-leading net rating is now double that of the third place Suns and a solid four and a half points per 100 possessions clear of the second place Jazz.

These easy victories have meant wins for bettors. Anyone plunking down dough on the Warriors this season has come away mostly happy, as they now own a ridiculous cover rate pushing 80 percent. That includes nine covers in their last 10 games, in which opponents are largely not able to keep it close. Even games they start off close, like their home matchup with the undermanned Sixers on Thanksgiving Eve that saw them go down by 19 early and come back to win going away, end up in blowouts.

Now they face a Clipper squad that is the closest thing Golden State has to a rivalry. LA is in a bit of a hot and cold stretch, having gone 3-4 in their last seven games following a seven-game winning streak. Most of the inconsistency is coming on the road though, where they’re getting outscored by nearly three points against the spread, but they’ve been a much more solid team at home, which is where they’re playing today.

Even so, this is a tall order. Vegas seems to have not yet fully bought in on Golden State even though they’ve been the safest bet on the board for the entire season. LA played the Warriors close in Golden State on the second night of the season, but that was before the NBA’s best team really took off.

Keep taking Steph until he gives us reasons not to. With a line this low, how can you not?

Boston Celtics vs Toronto Raptors Prediction

Celtics vs Raptors Odds

Through 20 games, the Boston Celtics are no one’s idea of a powerhouse. They are 10-10, with a barely positive net rating. The closest thing they have to a signature win came back on November 4, when they beat a Heat team on the road in a win that looks a lot less impressive after Miami has since come back down to earth.

All that being said, they are a much improved team from the early going. Their net rating since the 2-5 start is the ninth best in the league, with a defense that is giving up the third fewest points in basketball over that time. Their inconsistent offense has been more troublesome, with bouts of ineptitude mixed in with moments where their parts coalesce beautifully.

It also helped that Jaylen Brown has been in and out of the lineup. He has been back for the last three games now, and should play in this game versus Toronto. The Raptors, meanwhile, have come back down to earth after being an early surprise. They’ve lost eight of 11 games with their only wins coming against the inconsistent Grizzlies, the Kings right before Sacramento fired their coach, and the depleted Sixers.

Boston is a different caliber of competition. The Celtics have a top 10 road margin against the spread and have a defense that travels. The Raptors also aren’t healthy, with both OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr listed as questionable, and Anunoby having been out since November 15.

The Celtics are a team on the rise. Take advantage of reasonable spreads on them – like this one – while you can.
