NBA props expert John Hyslop is here with his top player prop pick for Monday night's NBA action.

NBA Player Prop Picks for Monday: Taking a Shot With a Rookie

I prefer to get down on an NBA game that starts at 7:00 pm ET, so I have action for an hour or so before the Monday Night Football game starts. It's kind of like getting an appetizer at a restaurant before your entree. It's just how things are done. But sometimes, there just isn't anything that looks good on the appetizer menu. I mean, how many times can you get Mozzarella sticks? When that happens, you have to go right to the best entree on the menu. I did that tonight, people, and it's perfect. (Chef's kiss)

Evan Mobley Over 0.5 Made Threes (+105)

Lines available at DraftKings at time of publishing.

I'm at DraftKings because they're giving plus money on this one which I think is crazy. FanDuel came in at 0.5 for -108, which is better, but it's still playable. We want under -110, and -108 is definitely that. I'm still waiting to see what BetMGM comes in at, so if you have to play there, then you still have hope.

Evan Mobley isn't a three-point shooter, but we don't need him to be. We need him to hit one three-pointer tonight. That's it. When the season first began, he was scared to shoot the try. I get it, it's far away, and he's almost seven feet tall. If I was that tall, I would just hang out under the rim and dunk on people.

But after only hitting two of his first 15 three-point attempts, he's settled in. In his last six games, our guy Evan Mobley has taken 17 three-point attempts and drilled eight of them. More importantly, he's hit one in five of those six games. The only game he didn't was when he hurt his elbow against the Boston Celtics. He still took two that night like the warrior is.

He gets the Dallas Mavericks tonight, which isn't great, but it's fine. They are bottom five in the NBA in opponents three-pointers attempted per game. I guess teams want to handle them inside. The thing is, Mobley played two of those teams (Pistons & Wizards) in his last six games and canned a three against both of them. This is not a crazy bet by any means, and we should definitely not be getting plus money.
