NBA Player Prop Picks for Thursday: Trusting Ro-Co From Behind the Arc

I'm one Lu Dort point away from being 4-0 in my last four picks posted right here at OddsChecker. That's called a heater people. And when you're on a heater, you keep betting. That's just how heaters work. I don't make the rules. We obviously have the NFL to bet tonight, so we'll certainly do that. But what happens when the Cowboys start blowing the Saints out and all of our prop bets have already hit? I'll tell you what I'm doing. I'm changing my television to NBA TV and watching Robert Covington rain all over San Antonio.

Robert Covington Over 1.5 Made-Threes (-125)

Lines available at DraftKings at time of publishing.

I went to DraftKings for this one since they have the best price. It's only slightly better than FanDuel, who's showing 1.5 for -130, but every penny counts, people. We can't just get all willy-nilly with our bets. If you want to wait for BetMGM to open something, that's fine but just know it is not likely to be better than -125.

Robert Covington is an interesting guy to bet on. He's the kind of guy you want on your team when you play pick-up. He doesn't want to handle the rock, and he thinks defense is above all else. On top of that, when you get into a pinch and have to kick it out, the guy will drain a three. You can definitely stay on the court with a guy like this.

The problem with Covington is that he disappears at times, but it's not totally his fault. When you have Damian Lillard on your team, you tend to go possession after possession without touching the ball. Well, tonight, the Blazers don't have Damian Lillard. On top of that, they are playing at home. This is where the magic happens for Covington.

In 11 home games so far this season, our guy has hit at least two three-pointers in nine of them. Of course, that's with Damian Lillard in the lineup. He took six threes the other night in only 24 minutes without Dame. I think he gets home again Thursday night, and if Norman Powell sits out, then the escalators at FanDuel become in play (3+ for +270 & 4+ for +900).
