NBA Player Prop Picks for Friday: A Big Man's Buckets

People have been calling and texting me, all asking the same question. "How does it feel to be 4-1 in your last five NBA picks at OddsChecker?" I have to be honest. It feels great! But, in this business, you have to be thinking about the next pick. That's why I don't even talk about past days in my articles. Yesterday is over people, and no matter how great I've been over the last few days (4-1 last 5), we need to think about today. Luckily for us, I have been thinking about tonight's bet since I got out of bed this morning and not the fact that I'm 4-1 in my last five picks at OddChecker. Just amazing focus by me here.

Jarrett Allen Over 15.5 Points (-116)

Lines available at FanDuel at time of publishing.

We're playing at FanDuel tonight, people since they hung the best number. It's not like DraftKings is so much worse, though. They have 15.5 at -120, which is definitely playable. We're still waiting on BetMGM to join the party, but I am sure they will align with what we're already seeing.

Let me tell you a little bit about betting on Jarrett Allen. First, it makes you feel strong inside like a man. He's a big man's bigman, and he will bully people if they let him. It doesn't make him a bad guy but watch tonight, and you'll see what I mean. He could have easily played for the Bad Boy Pistons in the 80s, but obviously, he didn't because he wasn't even born yet.

Tonight he's going to get Daniel Gafford and the Washington Wizards. If we're being honest (we are), I like Gafford, and he is a good defender. It's just he can't handle Jarrett Allen. It's just not possible. Karl Anthony-Towns just dropped 34 points last game against Washington. Hell, Jakob Poeltl just hung 14 on Gafford and company in 24 minutes Monday night.

Allen has topped this number in each of his last five games as far as form. In three of those games, he's taken at least ten shots which is crucial (you can't score if you don't shoot. Science.) Allen should be able to get to the free-throw line as well, given that Anthony-Towns took 11 free throws the other night against Washington. Only six teams in the NBA allow their opponents to shoot more free throws per game than the Wizards. So when all is said and done, I think Allen smashes tonight.

* If you want to YOLO, this one FanDuel has Allen 20+ points for +235. Of course, we've all thrown cash at dumber things than that.
