Philadelphia 76ers vs. Utah Jazz Prediction: Lay the Points in Philly

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Utah Jazz

76ers vs. Jazz odds

We’re at the point in the NBA where there is no surer thing in the league than regular-season dominance from the Utah Jazz.

After finishing last season as far and away the top team by both net rating and record in the league, the Jazz are once again coming for the top spot, with the second-best point differential in the league, trailing only the 21-4 Warriors. They have been number one in that category by a significant margin over the last several weeks, thanks in part to an offense that has put up over 125 points per 100 possessions in their last six games.

Against the spread, Utah is slightly less impressive, with a 13-11 record against the Vegas expectations. They failed backers in multiple wins over the last seven days, beating the Celtics by seven on an eight-point spread and the Cavs by just one on a five-point margin.

Last night’s effort was more impressive though, beating the Wolves on the road by 32 points. A few huge wins this season have helped beef up their scoring margin, and none has been bigger than their 35-point demolition of an Embiid-less Philly team on November 16. The Sixers have started to rebound since then, and after a three-game winning streak are now 14-11.

Like Utah though, the games have been close. They’ve dropped two straight against the spread, both against the Hornets in Charlotte, and are just 2-4 ATS since Joel Embiid returned.

Now they’re back home after a four-game trip, but the Sixers are just 3-7 ATS in their own building this season. Like Utah, they’re playing on the second night of a back to back.

This line pays respect to Philly like they’re still the dominant regular season team we’ve seen in recent years, but they’re not quite at that level yet. Give the points on the road.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Utah Jazz Pick

  • PICK: Jazz -3 @ -110

Lakers vs. Grizzlies

Lakers vs. Grizzlies odds

Don’t look now but the Lakers might be starting to figure things out.

After a convincing win against the Celtics on Tuesday morning, they’re now 4-2 since LeBron returned with the 7th best net rating in the league over that stretch.

The best net rating in the league over that same time frame, of course, belongs to the team they play tonight, but that’s largely because of their record-setting beat down of the Thunder and another comfy win against the Kings. Their last three have been closer, with their five-game winning streak coming to an end last night against the Mavs at home. It seemed like the lack of Ja Morant finally caught up to them a bit.

Now they’ll face a Laker team who already beat them once this season back in October. LA is as healthy as they’ve been all year and are scoring at the rate you’d expect from a group with this level of offensive talent. The Lakers have been brutal against the spread all season but most of that disappointment has come in their own building, whereas they have nearly a dead even margin ATS on the road. They’ll also have the rest advantage here.

Lakers vs. Grizzlies Pick

  • PICK: Lakers -3.5 @ -110
