NBA props expert John Hyslop is here with his top player prop pick for Friday night's NBA action.

NBA Player Prop Picks for Friday: Backing Big Man Buckets

It's Friday night, and that means NBA points scored props. It's the cornerstone of any Friday night, and if we're being honest, it will be that way for the next few months. There's no more college football on Fridays, and college basketball is usually pretty light as well. The thing is, the NBA usually comes heavily to start the weekend, so we'll be fine. In fact, I'm about to start a new heater, so there's that to get excited about as well. It's pretty sweet to be us right now people.

Jarrett Allen Over 16.5 Points (+100)

Lines available at DraftKings at time of publishing.

I went to DraftKings for this one because I just happened to be in New Hampshire doing a little Christmas shopping. (There's legit no sales tax here which blows my mind.) DraftKings is king in these parts, but if you are playing at FanDuel, it's the same price there. We're still waiting on BetMGM and Barstool to post player prop lines on this one, but when they do, I'm confident it will be in line with this number.

People were mad at Jarrett Allen for not covering the other night against the Chicago Bulls, but that wasn't his fault. First of all, he let Evan Mobley score eight points in the first three and a half minutes of the game. Class move if you ask me. He could have easily scored all those points himself, but he wanted the home fans to see the rookie in action. Hard to fault him for that, and he still almost covered but got pulled because of the blowout. Again, not his fault the Bulls stink.

Tonight the Cavaliers go on the road to face a Minnesota Timberwolves team that is not that bad. What I mean by that is they shouldn't get blown out. We are looking at a full four quarters of Jarrett Allen, which is what anyone with two eyeballs and a functioning brain would want to see. It's science.

When he's out there, he'll be facing a defense that gives up points to opposing centers like it's their job. We're talking fourth-most in the NBA here. On top of that, they also foul like no other team in the association. In fact, no team in the league allows opponents to shoot more free throws than the Timberwolves. Nothing like points being scored with the clock stopped to get a Friday night going. I love this bet.

* If you want to James Bond this thing, FanDuel is offering 20+ points for +200. That's a pretty good deal since he's done this in five of his last nine games. So if you decide to go this route, it will not be the dumbest thing you will do today (probably).
