NBA Parlay Picks for Wednesday: Trust the Favorites

Wednesday's NBA Parlay

I felt like changing things up a little today, so we're backing some outright winners and taking one team to cover a vast spread. Sometimes, something different can lead to something good, and we're hoping that's the case today.

NBA Parlay Odds: +129: Risk $100 to win $129

NBA Parlay Breakdown

The Orlando Magic have lost five of their last six games and are losing games by an average of 7.9 points in the previous two weeks. Throw in the fact that 10 of their players are in health and safety protocols, and another two are questionable for tonight's game, and there's no reason to believe they're in with a shot at winning this contest. The Atlanta Hawks, who are also missing players – four to be exact – have also been poor over the last two weeks, losing three of their previous four games by a 7.4 margin. However, the Hawks started the season with one of the deepest rosters in the league, so missing a handful of rotation players isn't going to hit them too hard (except for the loss of Trae Young). Then factor in that their opponents are down almost an entire roster. So you have to be confident in them seeing out tonight's game in commanding fashion.

Neither the Chicago Bulls nor the Toronto Raptors look in good shape right now. Both teams are missing huge chunks of their primary rotations and rely on players fighting for minutes in the G-League just seven days ago. However, the Bulls can still call upon Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic - a legitimate big three. At the same time, the Raptors, who have ten players missing tonight, have no available offensive or defensive weapons. Chicago has been dealing with some roster issues for the last week and has split their previous four games 2-2, but coming up against a depleted Raptors team will fill them with confidence. However, Nick Nurse still has his team playing good basketball, and you can never count his teams out, so we're giving the Raptors a +15 spread and will be watching this game closely as it enters the fourth quarter.

Finally, the Milwaukee Bucks face off against the Houston Rockets. Sure, Giannis Antetokounmpo is not playing in tonight's game, and neither is Bobby Portis, but the Bucks have the rest of their usual guys available for the contest. The Rockets, while also considered healthy compared to the rest of the league, are without Kevin Porter Jr, Christian Wood, and Jalen Green – their three best players outside of John Wall. Nevertheless, the Bucks should have no problem getting through this game and coming away with a victory. Houston has lost five of their last eight games and has the 29th ranked defense in the previous two weeks. With such a difference in talent level, you have to back the Bucks to win tonight's game outright, sure the Rockets have won a few recently, but they're missing their primary scorers, so you can't hold out much hope for their success.

Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Same-Game Parlay

  • Celtics Moneyline
  • Over 215.5 Points
  • Odds: +187

Celtics vs Cavaliers Odds

When I woke up this morning, I had the Cleveland Cavaliers favored to beat the Boston Celtics, and then I saw the injury report. You see, over the last two weeks, the Cavaliers have had the best defense in the NBA and have limited teams to just 95.5 points per game. But, Evan Mobley – the team's defensive heartbeat, is in health and safety protocols, as is Jarrett Allen and Isaac Okoro, among others. With all of their defensive players unable to participate in tonight's contest, the Cavaliers' chances of success have all but disappeared from the face of the planet. Sure, the Boston Celtics have struggled on offense recently and have their injury issues to deal with. Still, both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will participate in tonight's game, and without their best defenders on the floor, the Cavaliers will be unable to stop them from getting hot. The Celtics have the better players and deeper rotation for tonight's game, courtesy of the current COVID pandemic sweeping the NBA. Therefore, they should have no problem taking full advantage of their weakened opponent.

Sacramento Kings vs. Los Angeles Clippers Same-Game Parlay

  • Clippers Moneyline
  • Over 216.5 Points
  • Odds: +146

Kings vs Clippers Odds

Paul George is back healthy and will likely participate in the Los Angeles Clippers game against the Sacramento Kings later today. To make matters worse for the Kings, they will be without eight players tonight, including De'Aaron Fox, Davion Mitchell, and Richaun Holmes, placing a large amount of pressure on the young shoulders of Tyrese Haliburton. On the other hand, the Clippers are somewhat healthy and will be hoping George can galvanize an offense that sits 24th in the NBA right now. The reality is that the Kings are a depleted team relying on some end-of-bench veterans and some players who are with the team on hardship exceptions just to field a qualifying roster. The Clippers may have struggled for consistency in the last two weeks, but they're more than capable of striking against a Kings team that look to be easy pickings for the next ten days or so. Therefore, we're backing the Clippers to win this game outright.
