Washington Wizards vs. Houston Rockets Prediction

I am back on this Wednesday night with my favorite NBA bet of the day coming off back-to-back winners this week. The play I will be looking at to give us three winners in a row will be a battle between the Houston Rockets and the Washington Wizards.

The Rockets come into this game tonight as one of the worst teams in all of the NBA, playing to the tune of a 10-28 overall record while struggling badly as of late. The Rockets team made headlines a few days back when a pair of their star players, Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr., got into an argument with an assistant coach and walked off the court. The story caught a lot of attention, and the team decided to suspend both of the players for one game,

The Wizards started the season as one of the best teams in all of the eastern conference, but they have come back to life as of late playing now to a record of 19-18. They will look to stay above the .500 mark tonight with a win over a Rockets team that they are expected to handle, making them a 7.5 point home favorite tonight. The Wizards are expected to be without Spencer Dinwiddie in this game, as well as Aaron Holiday, a solid bench option for head coach Wes Unseld Jr. The total in this game is currently set at 230.0

In this game tonight, the play I am turning to will be to take the Houston Rockets team total under at 111.5. Washington started this season as one of the best defensive teams in the NBA but struggled on the defensive end the last month. I still think this is a good defense. They just ran into some opponents with high-powered offenses. Against a team like Houston, they should handle them and keep them under this total. The Wizards are currently allowing teams to score 109.2 points per game which sets them up well tonight.

The difference with this Wizards team from the past few seasons is their pace has dropped, which will allow fewer opportunities for the Rockets on the offensive end of things. I think there is a lot of issues with Houston at the moment and question the intensity they are playing with right now, especially with Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr. I do not see them getting up for this road game tonight and see them coming out sluggish to start this one off and fall too far behind to be able to catch up to this high number. The Wizards, on the flip side, have shown to play hard in all of their games this season, and they will compete every trip down the floor on the defensive end.

I think this is a very favorable matchup for the Wizards tonight, and I am willing to take a shot on the Rockets team total under in this matchup. I think this pick will extend our winning streak and keep us perfect this week in the NBA.

Wizards vs. Rockets Pick

  • Rockets Team Total Under 111.5 (-110)
