NBA Parlay Breakdown

Our first game is between the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards, in a game the Bulls should be favorites for. The Wizards may have started the season strong, but have regressed to the mean over the last 6 weeks or so, and that's fine, they were never projected to be an Eastern Conference powerhouse this year. We saw these two teams go at it at the beginning of the week too, and the Bulls ran out winners, albeit by a single point. You see, the Wizards might be struggling on both sides of the floor, but they're still a scrappy team that will claw and fights on every possession, and the Bulls learned that the hard way. However, the downside for the Wizards is that Chicago will make adjustments tonight, and likely come away from the game with a healthier margin because of it. It doesn't help that Washington is without 6 players tonight, along with Montrezl Harrell being questionable and Davis Berteans listed as doubtful, while the Bulls' only major loss is Alex Caruso. I'm backing the Bulls to walk away with the W tonight, and won't be second-guessing that decision.

Next up, we have the Dallas Mavericks against the Houston Rockets. To throw something of a curveball at you, we're backing the Rockets for tonight's contest - why? Because Dallas has some serious health issues to contend with, and I think the Rockets could look to take advantage of that. Luka Doncic is doubtful for tonight's game, Kristaps Porzingis is out, and the Mavericks two big men are both set to miss this game too. The Rockets, who are missing some of their better rookies, look to have the deeper, stronger roster on paper - especially if Christian Wood is locked in and ready to play. Sure, the Mavericks have some solid rotation players who can step into bigger roles - the name Jalen Brunson comes to mind, but the Rockets may see this game as an opportunity to build morale before the losing starts again.

Our final game in this parlay is between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder in a repeat of their game earlier this week. The Timberwolves won their last contest against Oklahoma by 8 points, and considering both teams are healthy, will likely do so again. We're talking about a roster that can call upon Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, D'Angelo Russell, Jared Vanderbilt, and Malik Beasley facing off against a roster who outside of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are still a work in progress. The Thunder are one of the worst offensive teams in the league, ranking 29th for the season, so if the game comes down to a shootout, they will likely fail. Furthermore, Chris Finch has improved the Timberwolves defensive fortunes this season and sees his team currently sitting 10th in the NBA for defensive rating - overall, the Timberwolves are the superior team with a budding All-Star and a genuine top-5 big man in the league, I can see the Thunder winning this one tonight, and fell confident of this selection heading into the game.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Milwaukee Bucks Same-Game Parlay

  • Nets -4.5
  • Under 230.5 Points
  • Odds: +240

In arguably the best game of the day, the Brooklyn Nets will face off against the Milwaukee Bucks. Unfortunately, we're not going to see the current NBA champions at full strength, although they do have Giannia Anteteokounmpo listed as probable. The issue for the Bucks is that Jrue Holiday, Grayson Allen, George Hill, and Donte DiVincenzo are all out tonight, which will force the coaching staff to shorten their rotations. Usually, a short-handed Bucks team is still considered a slight favorite heading into a game, but not this time, the Bucks are playing a Nets team who have a healthy James Harden and Kevin Durant - but Kyrie Irving will not be participating in the game.

Brooklyn has halted their losing streak and is now 24-12 on the season, giving them an almost identical record to their opponents who are 25-15. Neither team has had much luck in terms of health and player availability, but both have remained competitive, which will serve them well once the playoffs begin. However, for tonight, the Nets are the better team, with Durant capable of going toe-to-toe with Anteteokounmpo on both sides of the floor. Harden is also having an underappreciated season and is averaging 22.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game, and without Holiday to try and slow him down, will be a thorn in Milwaukee's side all game. I'm confident in the Nets' chances tonight, especially given the limited depth the Bucks have at their disposal.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Atlanta Hawks Same-Game Parlay

  • Los Angeles Lakers -2.5
  • Over 212.5 Points
  • Odds: +128

Click Here for Lakers vs Hawks Odds

The Atlanta Hawks look incredibly thin heading into tonight's game against the Los Angeles Lakers, with decisions yet to be made on Trae Young and John Collins' availability. Even if those two players do participate, there's no bench depth on the Hawks roster as the team continues to navigate a health and safety protocols crisis. The Lakers, on the other hand, project to be close to full health and are on a three-game winning streak, thanks to some superhuman performances from LeBron James.

While Cleaning The Glass has the Hawks offense ranked in 2nd for the season, their form over the last two weeks has been far less encouraging, with the team sitting 29th in defense and 13th for offense - which considering their struggles, is admirable. However, despite their current rankings for offense and defense, the Hawks have lost 4 of their last 6 games and are treading water until their roster returns to some form of normalcy. Los Angeles has already gone through their COVID crisis, as well as a genuine injury crisis, and no team took it easy on them, so we can expect the Lakers to repay that favor tonight as they look to close out the game early and get some of their aging stars some much needed additional rest. I'm calling a potential blow-out, but I know that's hardly ever the case with this Lakers team.
