NBA Player Prop Picks for Friday: Ride With Monk
We all have to do things we don't want to do. That's just how life works. Right at the top of things I have to do that I don't like doing is waiting until 10:00 pm ET for an NBA bet. It happens but I'm on the east coast and if I want to bet a west coast game, then I have to wait until 10:00 pm. You just have to persevere in a situation like this. We don't have any other option unless we move which feels a little excessive. The good news is, this one is worth waiting for because there is no chance this bet loses tonight. Plus it's Friday so we have that working too.

Malik Monk Over 16.5 Points (-113) (Bet $100 to win $188.50 total)
Line Available at Barstool Sportsbook at Time of Publishing
We're going over to Barstool for this one since they are hanging the best price. They barely beat FanDuel at 16.5 for -114 so it's not crazy to play there if you can't get to Barstool. DraftKings is at 16.5 for -120 which is fine too. It's all deadly really except for BetMGM who hasn't posted player prop lines for this game yet. I'm sure they will shortly so don't forget to at least check there later.
I've had enough of these books disrespecting Malik Monk and his game. Every night it's 15.5 points for this guy like that's a fair line for a generational talent like Monk. It's sickening. Now they're bumping him up to 16.5 like that's any different. Like he hasn't gone 20+ in four of his last six games since Christmas. It's crazy.
The thing about Monk is, if he plays 30+ minutes, he's getting you 16.5 points. He's a bucket guy. He's played 30+ minutes 12 times this season and dropped at least 17 points in nine of those games. One of those times he failed, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook were hogging the ball so we can't even count that one. Davis isn't playing tonight so that problem is solved.
As if getting Monk at 16.5 wasn't good enough, we're also getting him against the Atlanta Hawks. They don't play defense. In fact, there are only three teams in the entire NBA that are worse in terms of defensive efficiency. If Monk takes 13+ shots tonight against these guys like he has in four of his last six games, he should score at least 17 points.
