Pelicans vs. Celtics Line Movement

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Boston Celtics Prediction

Both teams in this contest have lost three of their last five games, and with both teams struggling, I’m more confident in the Celtics finding their way to victory and putting their record over .500. The Celtics (25-25) have had a hard time figuring things out with their current roster, and with the deadline rapidly approaching, players not named Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown should be fighting to stay with the team.

The New Orleans Pelicans (18-30) had a very slow start while missing their number one option in Zion Williamson. With a roster built to assist Williamson, the Pelicans had to figure out how to make their situation better with the active, healthy roster they have now.

Averaging 25.9 PPG, Jayson Tatum will be a problem for the Pelican's defense. In their last matchup on January 17, 2022, Tatum scored 27 points on 50% shooting. Jaylen Brown backed Tatum’s big game with 23 points on 8-for-17 shooting.

The Celtics defense held Brandon Ingram, the Pelican's current number one option, to just 15 points on 6-for-19 shooting. With Williamson sidelined, Ingram gets most of the attention on the offensive end, while carrying the biggest load.

In their last injury report, the Pelicans listed Ingram as out, removing the number one option out of their lineup. Whether or not Ingram plays, the Celtics should have no issues defending the shorthanded Pelicans.
