Miami Heat vs New Orleans Pelicans Prediction
The Heat haven't been very kind to me lately whether I have bet on them or against them, but I think this is a solid spot to back the Heat. The Miami Heat have quietly been one of the best teams in the NBA over the past few weeks and are now quietly the number one team in the eastern conference.
The Heat are finally starting to get healthy as Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Kyle Lowry, and PJ Tucker have all come back from their recent injuries. This is their truest and best starting five and now that they are all back and healthy again, they are rounding into form. In their last three games, the Heat have gone 3-0 and won all three by an average of 19 points per game.
The Pelicans have also been playing better as of late as they have won four games in a row and have gone 4-0 ATS in those games while covering by an average margin of nine points per game.
I think the recent success is why we are getting a discount on this line as I feel like it should be closer to -7.5/8. The Heat's identity is being a stout defensive team who can knock down perimeter shots and they are finally starting to get back to that. In the Heat's last three games, they have only allowed over 100 points once (exactly 100) and are allowing an average of 94 ppg against some good offenses which include the Hornets, Spurs, and Wizards.
Obviously, this is a small sample size, but the Heat have been playing very well and I don't mind backing them tonight at this small number so with that being said, I am rolling with the Miami Heat -4 at -112 (Play up to -6).
