Thursday's YOLO Bet of the Day: Morning YOLO Thoughts

The sun has risen once again and that can only mean one thing, it's time to gamble. It's time to take an inventory of what the NBA is offering and figure out a path. The story of tonight can be told a million different ways depending on what path you take, but for me, it's going to start simple. I'm going to TNT. We've got two games which will span the entire night. The Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards at 7:30 pm ET followed by the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns at 10:00 pm. But before we can nail down an actual bet, we've got to see if there's anything we can YOLO so we need to look at every game. We don't have to nail anything down yet, but we definitely need to float some ideas. It gets the YOLO juices flowing which is key. We need this.

Ja Morant 30+ Points (+126)

This isn't a "real" YOLO bet since it's +126 but sometimes you have to crawl a little before you walk. There's no shame in that. We took that approach to actual walking and that seemed to work. The thing with this bet is it's a race against time. Will Ja hang 30 before he gets pulled? Even on the road, the Grizzlies should stomp the Pistons so there's not much chance Morant plays the fourth quarter. The Grizzlies played the Pistons back on January 6th and Morant only scored 22 points in 24 minutes. The thing is, Ja has scored at least 30 points in nine of his last 10 games. He got there in less than 28 in each of his last two. This could be worth a move based on the fun factor of Ja Morant alone. It's officially on the radar.

Brandon Ingram 8+ Assists (+340)

People are mad at Brandon Ingram for only having two assists last game but that wasn't his fault. He had 12 potentials that night. He's clean. Now I do expect the Pelicans to get waxed tonight and the Heat defintely play defense but eight assists is not out of the question. In terms of opponent assists per field goals made, only two teams in the NBA have been "worse" over the last three games than the Heat. You have to do work to score against these guys and that means ball movement. Over the last three games, Ingram has seen 17 potential assists per game. This is officially on the radar.

Devin Booker & Giannis Antetokounmpo 35+ Points Each (+900)

This is the "maybe I've had too much coffee" move of the list but I feel like I have to include it. First off, it's on national television so a +900 move on two superstars to go all superstar is just magic. Second, it's not that crazy when you think that this could definitely be a "star game". Both teams were in the Finals last season. They know what time it is. Third, it's on at 10:00pm ET so we'll probably be half in the bag anyway. It's Thursday. It's fine. If it starts to go south, we can just go to bed. Still, this move is on the radar for potential variations that could come up during the day.
