NBA Player Prop Picks for Friday: New Jakob Poeltl Can't Be Stopped
Disrespect is defined by Merriam-Webster as follows: to lack special regard or respect for. That sounds great but I define it as the books hanging low point totals on Jakob Poeltl all the time. It's ridiculous. The Bulls offered a first-round pick for this guy and the Spurs didn't even take it. The guy is an undercover beast and it's time he starts getting priced like it. Being a class act and all, I was going to let the books slide on this one but after thinking it over, I can't. Just because I don't have Jakob on my All-NBA First Team, doesn't mean the books can treat him like this. I'm sure you can all understand.

Jakob Poeltl Over 12.5 Points (-105)
*Odds Available at DraftKings at Time of Publishing*
I'm at DraftKings here but this can be played at FanDuel for -108. That's not a huge deal but I always go low. BetMGM has -115 so everyone is pretty much in agreement with disrespecting Jakob Poeltl tonight. It's disgusting.
Being seven feet tall and getting shut out in a basketball game has to be all-time demoralizing. I mean, you're seven feet tall and you play right next to the basket. You would think you could accidentally score at least once. Well, Jakob Poeltl proved that it was possible back on January 14th when he was blanked in 32 minutes of action against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
But this isn't a bad on Jakob story, it's actually the opposite. You see, since that night, Poeltl has dumped in at least 13 points in eight out of 10 games. The times he didn't weren't even his fault. Once was against the Warriors and people don't even play their centers against them. Poeltl was only on the floor for 12 minutes. It's pretty hard to score from the bench.
The other time was the last game against the Cavaliers. They are the same team that shut him out back on the 14th. Poeltl dropped seven points this time around which was great in my opinion. From zero to seven people. That's called progress. You try scoring on Jarrett Allen.
New Jakob doesn't play Allen and the Cavaliers again tonight. They have the Atlanta Hawks which means Clint Capela. Simply put, Capela can't handle Poeltl. The last three times they've played, Jakob has hung at least 14 points in every meeting. Even though this has minor blowout potential, I still think Poeltl scores at least 13 points.
