Brooklyn Nets vs. Sacramento Kings Prediction
Imagine if someone had told you before the season that a 22-36 Kings team would be coming into Brooklyn and getting points against the presumptive favorites to win the championship? For as predictable as the NBA can often be, this year has been anything but, and there is no clearer example of that than the Nets.
Here are the down and dirty numbers:
- Brooklyn's losing streak has now reached 11 games, during which they are 2-9-1 against the spread.
- They have the league's 23rd ranked offense and the NBA's second worst defense in that time.
- James Harden was available for four of those games while Kyrie Irving was present for eight, as most of the contests were on the road. Neither will be in the lineup tonight.
- This will be the third time this season that Brooklyn has played a home game without the big three. In the first one, they lost to an Orlando team missing Cole Anthony and several key rotation players, then they dropped a game to the Nuggets by six, and in the most recent one, they lost to the Celtics by 35
Meanwhile, Sacramento is 2-0 since their big trade for Domantas Sabonis. They are motivated to capture a play-in birth and are playing like they have a new lease on life.
So while this line may have been unthinkable before the season started, now, it appears about half as big as it should be.

New York Knicks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction
Every time I think I'm out...they pull me back in...
Leave it to the Knicks to follow up arguably their best win of the season - a 116-114 win in Golden State - with a loss to the remains of the Blazers in a game they led by 23 points midway through the 3rd quarter.
That's this year's Knicks in a nutshell...moments of incredible synergy surrounded by baffling gaffes that evince a team without any semblance of real chemistry. Now, they head home to face a Thunder team without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and because of that absence, are nearly double digit favorites. This is not a situation New York prospers in. They've dropped the only three games they've been double digits faves in this year against the spread, including two losses outright. Their next highest spread after that, by 8.5 in Detroit, required a comeback from 16 down to eventually win and barely cover.
Knowing New York's Jekyll and Hyde personality this season, they'll probably show up with a nice effort tonight, but they'll be missing RJ Barrett and might be without Mitchell Robinson and recently acquired Cam Reddish. Simply put, they haven't earned the benefit of the doubt in these situations. Take the points on the road.
